Johan Nikles #420Switzerland00 – 2Matej Dodig #257Croatia2

Dodig, 20, is ranked 254 and has built a 20-10 clay record in 2026. Nikles, 29, is ranked 424 and has spent most of his career on clay but has been less consistent recently.

Dodig's last-15 clay sample shows a 73.3% win rate and a 75.5% first-serve points won mark, compared with Nikles' 53.3% win rate and 62.9% first-serve points won. Dodig also averages 6.6 aces per match to Nikles' 1.3, giving him a clear serving edge. However, Nikles has won five straight matches this week, so his current level may be closer than the broader sample suggests.

Nikles, 29, is a clay-court specialist ranked 424. He has reached the semi-final after coming through qualifying and the main draw without a loss this week.

His five wins include victories over opponents ranked 257, 269, 414, 899, and 773, with three of those matches going to three sets. That run suggests he is comfortable in the conditions and can handle tight moments, but the quality of opposition has been lower than what Dodig has faced. The streak may give him confidence, but it does not erase the gap in recent overall form.

Dodig, 20, has played 15 matches in the last two months, with an average duration of 98.3 minutes. He has not retired or withdrawn recently.

His last two matches went to three sets, including a 2-6 7-6(1) 6-3 win over Max Schoenhaus and a 6-7(1) 7-6(3) 7-5 win over Henry Bernet. That workload could be a factor in a semi-final, but his physical condition appears sound. Nikles has also played three three-set matches this week, so neither player has a clear freshness edge.

Nikles and Dodig meet in the Como semi-final, with the winner advancing to the ATP Challenger 75 final. This is the only retained research claim, and it adds no new match-specific signal beyond the matchup itself.
