Mitsuki Wei Kang Leong #54411 – 2Petr Bar Biryukov #285Russia2

Leong, 464th, is a right-hander who has played almost all of his 2026 tennis on hard courts, going 36-19 on the surface this year. Biryukov, 299th, is a 196cm left-hander whose 2026 hard-court record is 24-13.

Leong's 12-3 last-15 record includes 80% of sets won and 59.5% of games won, with 52.7% of break points converted. Biryukov's 9-6 record covers 60.6% of sets and 52.6% of games, and his 37.8% break-point conversion is the weaker figure. Leong's return points won (43.4%) also sits well above Biryukov's 34.1%, so the recent numbers point to Leong creating more pressure on return.

Biryukov is a 196cm left-hander, and his serve has been the anchor of his hard-court game: 9.7 aces per match across his last 10 hard-court matches. Leong, at 175cm, averages 4.7 aces per match over his last 15.

Biryukov's first-serve points won (75.9%) and aces per match (9.5) are the standout serve figures in this matchup, but his first-serve percentage is only 56.3% and he double-faults 4.7 times per match. Leong's first-serve points won is 72.3% on a higher 62.7% first-serve rate. The serve edge is real but conditional on Biryukov finding the box, which his double-fault rate shows is not automatic.

The pair have met three times since August 2025, all on hard courts: Biryukov won 7-5 6-4 and 6-2 5-7 6-3, while Leong won 7-6(3) 6-3 on 1 September 2026.

The head-to-head serve numbers lean to Biryukov: 34 aces to Leong's 19, 80% first-serve points won to 72%, and 35% return points won to 29%. But Biryukov converted only 26% of break points across the series against Leong's 50%, which is the pattern behind Leong's most recent win. The series is close enough that the latest result and the break-point gap matter as much as the 2-1 lead.

Biryukov's recent match log includes one retirement, on 4 August 2026 against Paul Inchauspe, and he has completed every match since then.

The retirement is more than a month old and Biryukov has since played seven matches without another withdrawal, including two wins this week in Guangzhou. That makes it background rather than a current restriction, but it is the only physical flag in either player's recent record and worth noting if the match goes long.
