Context last updated 26 Sep 2026, 03:12 · Europe/Bucharest

Mena has won eight matches in a row and 12 of his last 15 on clay; Boscardin Dias had lost nine straight before winning three in Buenos Aires this week.

Mena is the likely winner, most probably in straight sets. The 1.44 on him to win the match, 1.5 on the second set and 2.05 on a 2-0 win all carry value; the 1.5 first-set price does not.

Context

Mena, 33, has moved from outside the top 300 to No. 220 within a month, and his live ranking is around No. 204. He is the higher-ranked player against an opponent 64 places below him who is also in his best week since May, so the ranking gap understates how much of this fixture turns on which version of each player appears. A straight-sets final win over Hugo Dellien and a run of 6-4 sets show he is closing matches without long three-set attrition. The limit is the opposition: apart from Dellien, everyone he beat across Porto and Augsburg was ranked outside the top 150.
- Fifth Challenger title and first since 2024, beating Hugo Dellien 7-6 6-4 in the Porto final
- Runner-up in Augsburg the previous week and champion in Porto the week after
- Eight consecutive match wins and a third straight Challenger semifinal
- Twelve wins and one defeat across his last three tournaments, moving from about No. 350 to No. 215 in under a month

Boscardin Dias won only once in 11 matches between late May and early August, and that win came when Yosuke Watanuki retired, before about seven weeks without a competitive match. His three wins in Buenos Aires are the first evidence since spring that his level is intact, and they set up a semifinal against an opponent on an eight-match winning streak. That contrast is the central question of the fixture: on ranking and season-long form this should be one-sided, and on the last four days it is much closer. The caveat is specific: all three wins came against players outside the top 250, so he has not beaten a top-200 opponent this week.
- Nine consecutive defeats from June to early August 2026
- About seven weeks without a competitive match before Buenos Aires
- Three wins in Buenos Aires, taking him to a third Challenger semifinal of 2026
- His only win between late May and early August came when Yosuke Watanuki retired

Boscardin Dias, 23, has won three matches in four days on Buenos Aires clay, the first time he has put wins together since late May. The Roncadelli match stands out: after losing the first set 0-6 he won 7-6(5) 6-3, the in-match recovery his season had been missing, and he followed it with a straight-sets quarterfinal. A semifinal place is his third at this level in 2026. The specific limit is opposition quality: his three beaten opponents are ranked 462, 264 and 355.
- Beat Franco Roncadelli 0-6 7-6(5) 6-3 after losing the opening set without a game
- Beat compatriot Eduardo Ribeiro 6-4 6-4 in the quarterfinals
- Beat Santiago Rodriguez Taverna 6-3 6-1 in the first round
- Semifinal is his third at Challenger level in 2026
ConfirmedSources checked 26 Sep 2026, 03:10 · Europe/Bucharest
Kicker is a former champion at this event, so a 6-4 6-4 win over him is a stronger quarterfinal result than the score alone suggests. Mena is the eighth seed, and two other seeds, Juan Carlos Prado Ángelo and Juan Pablo Varillas, were eliminated at the same stage, leaving the top half of the draw open for him. Kicker took a medical timeout for his lower back while Mena served at 4-3 in the second set, so the closing games came against an opponent managing a physical problem. That makes this a genuine route result rather than a clean measure of Mena against a fully fit opponent.
- Mena, seeded eighth, beat Nicolás Kicker 6-4 6-4 in the quarterfinals
- Kicker won this tournament in 2017
- Kicker received treatment on his lower back with Mena serving at 4-3 in the second set
- The semifinal was decided in an all-Argentine quarterfinal
