Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 17 Sep 2026, 03:10 · Europe/Bucharest

Kotov's superior hard-court serve (76.2% first-serve points won, 6.0 aces/match) gives him a slight edge over Noguchi, whose better return game keeps the match close.

The 1.40 price on Kotov is overpriced versus a 58% model estimate, so the value lies in totals — over 21.5 games, over 2.5 sets, and over 6.5 aces. A Kotov 2-1 win is the most likely exact score, with at least one tiebreak probable.

Context

Kotov, 27, is a 191cm right-hander ranked No. 221 who has spent most of his career on clay but has posted a 13-3 indoor hard record in 2026. Noguchi, 28, is a 168cm right-hander ranked No. 229 whose career has been built almost entirely on outdoor hard courts.
Kotov's last-15 hard record is 5-8 with a 52.1% games-won rate, while Noguchi is 8-6 on hard with 51.4% of games won. The win-loss gap is modest and the underlying games numbers are nearly identical, so this reads as a close matchup rather than one player arriving with clear momentum.
- Kotov last-15 hard: 5-8 record, 52.1% games won, 76.2% first-serve points won (8 matches tracked).
- Noguchi last-15 hard: 8-6 record, 51.4% games won, 66.6% first-serve points won (14 matches tracked).
- Both players are ranked outside the top 200 and neither has a recent win over a top-100 opponent.
Kotov's 191cm frame and 6.0 aces per hard match in the last 15 contrast with Noguchi's 168cm height and 1.4 aces per hard match. Kotov also wins 76.2% of first-serve points on hard compared to Noguchi's 66.6%.
The serve numbers point to Kotov holding more comfortably, but his 36% return-points-won rate on hard is lower than Noguchi's 43.1%. That return gap gives Noguchi a counterweight if he can extend rallies and avoid giving Kotov free points on serve.
- Kotov last-15 hard: 6.0 aces per match, 76.2% first-serve points won (8 matches tracked).
- Noguchi last-15 hard: 1.4 aces per match, 66.6% first-serve points won (14 matches tracked).
- Noguchi's 43.1% hard-court return-points-won rate is higher than Kotov's 36.0%.
Noguchi has played 15 matches in the recent window with an average duration of 186.8 minutes, including several three-setters. Kotov's average is 115.8 minutes across the same number of matches.
Noguchi has spent significantly more time on court, which could affect his recovery and late-match sharpness. Kotov's shorter matches suggest he arrives fresher, though his own recent form includes a retirement in June and a three-set loss in September.
- Noguchi last-15 average match duration: 186.8 minutes (15 matches tracked).
- Kotov last-15 average match duration: 115.8 minutes (15 matches tracked).
- Noguchi has played multiple three-set matches in the last 15, including wins over Uchida and Alvarez Valdes.

Kotov's Hard-court serve structure is far stronger, but the quoted price already overstates his win probability relative to a 58% model estimate, so there is no positive edge.
