An all-Spanish quarterfinal in Porto, with a semifinal place at stake.

Rincon has the better hard-court form in this window and is the likelier winner, but his 1.3 match price leaves little room. The prices carrying an edge are on Jorda Sanchis: 3.2 to win the match, 2.75 for the first set, 2.6 for the second.

Context

Rincon has won both Porto matches in straight sets, the second against Djere, who entered ranked 76 places higher at No. 181. Two quick wins keep his time on court low before a quarterfinal scheduled one day after the round of 16, and it is the more demanding route of the two men in this tie on paper. The scorelines were not equally comfortable, though: the first set against Djere needed a tie-break taken 8-6 and the second was decided by a single break, so the win over the higher-ranked opponent was narrow rather than emphatic.
- Rincon beat Djere 7-6(6) 6-4 in the Porto round of 16
- Rincon beat qualifier Fausto Tabacco 6-1 6-1 in the first round on 29 September
- Djere entered the match ranked No. 181, 76 places above Rincon
ConfirmedSources checked 2 Oct 2026, 03:06 · Europe/Bucharest
Jorda Sanchis's passage past the highest-ranked opponent in either player's route came through a retirement: de Jong, the No. 3 seed at No. 93, stopped at 6-4 3-5 after a medical timeout for a foot or leg problem during the match. That gave the 32-year-old a shorter opening match, but it also means his only completed win in Porto is a straight-sets result against Goncalo Marques, ranked No. 652. Rincon has finished both of his matches, so Jorda Sanchis enters the quarterfinal with less evidence of how he holds up across a full match at this level.
- Jesper de Jong, the third seed at No. 93, retired at 6-4 3-5 in the first round
- De Jong took a medical timeout for a foot or leg problem during the match
- Jorda Sanchis beat Goncalo Marques, ranked No. 652, 6-4 7-5 in the round of 16

The Porto Challenger is played on hard courts and began, with both Spaniards winning their round-of-16 matches to set up this tie. The winner is guaranteed a place in the last four, the immediate stake for two players who sit 45 places apart in the rankings, Rincon at No. 257 and Jorda Sanchis at No. 212. The guarantee comes from the draw rather than from either man's form, so it does not by itself separate them in this match.
- Rincon beat Laslo Djere 7-6(6) 6-4 in the Porto round of 16
- Jorda Sanchis beat Goncalo Marques 6-4 7-5 to reach the quarterfinals
- The winner of this tie advances to the semifinals of the Porto Challenger
ConfirmedSources checked 2 Oct 2026, 03:06 · Europe/Bucharest
Jorda Sanchis brings a 3-6 hard-court record into the quarterfinal, but he can point to one clean win over top-180 opposition.
That 6-2 6-4 result shows he can handle an opponent of similar standing to Rincon's win over No. 181 Laslo Djere. It sits inside a nine-match hard-court sample in which he has lost six times, so a single good day is not a form trend. For this quarterfinal it is the clearest evidence that his higher ranking is not merely a number.
- 22 Sep 2026: Jorda Sanchis beat Harry Wendelken (No. 178) 6-2 6-4 on hard court
- Jorda Sanchis's hard-court window totals nine matches and a 3-6 record
