Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 29 Sep 2026, 19:39 · Europe/Bucharest

Djere is the higher-ranked player with the better recent record, but he has only four completed hard-court matches behind him since a mid-match retirement and a twelve-day break.

He should win, most likely in two sets. The reviewed prices — Djere at 1.55 to win and 1.60 for the first set, Rincon at 2.30 to win and 2.20 for the first set — ask more than their recent records support.

Context

Djere took a medical time-out against Luka Mikrut and retired at 6-3, 2-2, then came off the Genoa entry list and did not play again until, so the twelve-day gap is the clearest open question about his condition going into a second-round match played the day after his return. He answered the first part of it by beating Michael Mmoh in straight sets on the same hard courts, which is the better current evidence about his body. That single match is the limit of it: nothing establishes that the problem behind the time-out has cleared, and this fixture asks for a higher level than the first round did, against an opponent who has dropped only two games in the tournament so far.
- Medical time-out in the second set against Luka Mikrut, with Djere retiring at 6-3, 2-2
- Removed from the Genoa Challenger entry list
- No competitive matches between 16 and
- Returned with a 6-4, 6-4 first-round win over Michael Mmoh at the Eupago Porto Open

Djere's hard-court record rests on a small, recent set of matches rather than a long run at this level.
Djere's hard-court results point to short, two-set matches rather than long ones, which shapes how this second round is likely to look. The sample covers four matches between 17 August and 28 September 2026 and excludes one retirement, so it describes a pattern rather than a settled profile. Rincon has taken four of his ten tracked hard-court matches to a third set, and that is the counterweight to reading this as a quick straight-sets win for Djere.
- Four completed hard-court matches tracked for Djere, 2-2, spanning 17 August to 28 September 2026, with one retirement excluded
- Scorelines: 2-0 twice, 0-2 twice; no three-set matches
- Average of 19.75 total games per completed hard-court match
The opening pairing in Rincon's part of the draw changed on the morning of play, with Grigor Dimitrov pulling out with a left knee injury and the slot going to a qualifier instead. Rincon therefore opened against Fausto Tabacco, ranked 478, rather than a former top-five player, and won 6-1, 6-1 . The late change explains the scoreline and the light workload more than it says anything about Rincon's level. This second round is his first meeting in Porto with an opponent inside the top 200, so the win over Tabacco should be read as a soft entry rather than a form statement.
- Dimitrov moved into the ninth-seeded place after Dino Prizmic's withdrawal and was drawn to face Rincon in the first round
- Dimitrov withdrew from the Eupago Porto Open on the morning of his first-round match with a left knee injury
- Rincon's opening opponent became Italian qualifier Fausto Tabacco
- Rincon won 6-1, 6-1 to reach the second round
ReportedSources checked 29 Sep 2026, 19:38 · Europe/Bucharest
This match is played on hard courts at Challenger 125 level, the surface that has carried most of Rincon's recent tennis and the one on which Djere has built the least of his record. The field adds context: a draw holding five top-100 players and a former world No. 3 on a wild card is deeper than the usual event at this tier, so the second round is already a step up from the ranking gap between the two men. Both came through the first round in straight sets, so nothing in the early results points to the court favouring either of them so far.
- The Eupago Porto Open is an ATP Challenger 125 played on hard courts in Porto
- The first round was played across 28 and
- The draw included five top-100 players and a wild card for former world No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov
