Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 20 Sep 2026, 03:13 · Europe/Bucharest

Korneeva is the stronger hard-court player with better recent form, return numbers and quality wins, making her the likely winner over Sawangkaew in Seoul.

However, her 1.45 match price offers no value (-3.0 point edge), so the best angles are under 6.5 total aces and over 5.5 double faults, while handicap and straight-sets bets should be avoided.

Context

Korneeva, 19, is the higher-ranked player at No. 81 and has spent most of her 2026 season on hard courts, where she holds a 17-7 record. Sawangkaew, 24, is ranked No. 88 and has played 46 hard-court matches in 2026, winning 32.
Korneeva's 72.7% hard-court win rate in the last 15 matches is supported by a 58.7% games-won rate, while Sawangkaew sits at 60% and 52.5% respectively. The samples are similar in size, so the edge is real but not decisive. Sawangkaew's heavier 2026 hard-court workload could be a counterweight if fatigue becomes a factor.
- Korneeva last 15 hard-court record: 8-3 (72.7%), games won 58.7%.
- Sawangkaew last 15 hard-court record: 9-6 (60%), games won 52.5%.
- Both players have 15 matches tracked in the last-15 window, all on hard courts for Sawangkaew.
Sawangkaew's career double-fault count (1,413 in 356 matches) already points to serve inconsistency, and the recent window shows it has not improved. Korneeva's serve is more reliable, though not dominant.
Sawangkaew's 4.8 double faults per match in the last 15 is nearly double Korneeva's 2.7, and her second-serve points won (45.5%) is only slightly better than Korneeva's 43.6%. Korneeva's return points won (51.2%) is a clear strength, so Sawangkaew's serve games may be under pressure. The double-fault rate is the most concrete serve-related edge in the data.
- Sawangkaew last 15: 4.8 double faults per match (72 in 15 matches).
- Korneeva last 15: 2.7 double faults per match (40 in 15 matches).
- Korneeva return points won: 51.2% vs Sawangkaew 44.7% in the last 15.
Korneeva's break-point conversion rate is a standout number in her recent profile, well above her career baseline. Sawangkaew's rate is lower and closer to her career average.
Korneeva's 59.1% break-point conversion (81 of 137) is a significant edge over Sawangkaew's 43.2% (60 of 139). In a match where both players create chances, Korneeva's ability to take them could be the difference. Sawangkaew's break-point save rate (52.4%) is slightly better than Korneeva's (46.1%), so the pressure may swing both ways.
- Korneeva last 15: 59.1% break points converted (81/137).
- Sawangkaew last 15: 43.2% break points converted (60/139).
- Sawangkaew break points saved: 52.4% vs Korneeva 46.1% in the last 15.
Korneeva and Sawangkaew are drawn together in the Seoul Round of 32, with the winner facing either a qualifier or seventh seed Magda Linette. The event runs September 21-27 on hard courts at Seoul Olympic Park.
The confirmed setting is a hard-court first-round match with no extra travel or surface change to prepare for. The immediate reward is a step up in opposition, since Linette is seeded and the other route is a qualifier, so the winner's next task is already known.
- The 2026 draw places Korneeva against Sawangkaew and pairs that match with the qualifier-Linette first-round match.
