Pre-match view

Context last updated 13 Oct 2026, 03:03 · Europe/Bucharest

A match-sharp qualifier against a higher-ranked player whose latest recorded match was a 23 September loss: Adrienn Nagy has two completed clay wins in Lisbon this week, while Selena Janicijevic has lost three of her last four clay matches.

Nagy is the more likely winner, but that read carries low confidence, and with no selection cleared for backing on either side there is nothing worth staking here.

Context

Nagy entered the main draw the hard way, winning two qualifying matches in Lisbon on 11 and, including a three-set opener against Voloshchuk and a 6-3 6-3 win over Primorac Pavicic. That leaves her with two completed matches of sharpness and clay-court reps at the venue while Janicijevic, the higher-ranked player at No. 300, has not completed a competitive match since 23 September. The counterweight is opposition level: the qualifying wins came against players ranked outside the top 300 (No. 336 and No. 423), so the run is preparation evidence rather than proof of form against a top-300 opponent.
- Nagy beat Angelina Voloshchuk 6-3 6-7 6-3 in the opening qualifying round .
- Nagy beat Iva Primorac Pavicic 6-3 6-3 in the final qualifying round to enter the main draw.
- The structured recent sample lists both qualifying matches as played on clay.

The match is part of the WTA 125 Lisboa Belem Open in Lisbon, Portugal, a tier below the main WTA Tour, which is why a No. 300 player and a No. 451 qualifier share the same main draw. Main-draw play started, so this is a first-round fixture rather than a qualifying round, and it is the pair's first match of the week at this venue. Scheduling and court detail for the specific match are not established beyond the 13 October start.
- The WTA 125 Lisbon event is listed among the tour stops for the week beginning .
- Qualifying in Lisbon was held on 11 and .
- Main-draw play began, with Clara Burel winning her first-round match that day.

This is the last hard evidence of Janicijevic's form before a gap of some three weeks, and it came against a player ranked more than 250 places below her. One scoreline cannot stand for her whole level, and earlier in the same stretch she took higher-ranked opponents to three sets. It does mean there is no recent result to set against Nagy's two wins this week.
- Janicijevic lost 2-6 2-6 to Ilinca Dalina Amariei (No. 565) on 23 September 2026 on clay, a completed two-set match.
The sample runs through 12 October 2026 and shows Nagy winning a little more than half of her total points, 1040 of 2069. Her serve-in and break-point figures come from the same 15 matches, so they describe a player holding her own rather than dominating. Against a higher-ranked opponent, that consistency is what makes the two qualifying wins in Lisbon look more than routine.
- Nagy's last-15 sample covers 15 matches with a 9-6 record, 67.6% first serves in (700 of 1035) and 57.7% of break points converted (75 of 130).
- She won 50.3% of total points (1040 of 2069) and averaged 103.7 minutes per match across the same 15 matches.
