Context last updated 12 Oct 2026, 01:54 · Europe/Bucharest

Kasnikowski's hard-court workload and serve numbers meet a Cretu who has yet to win a set on the surface in 2026; the likely result is a Kasnikowski win.

The 1.4 match price leaves nothing, and the 1.45 first- and second-set quotes ask for more than the record gives. Kasnikowski to win 2-1 at 3.75 is the one price worth considering — he has needed three sets in three of five hard-court wins this year.

Context

Kasnikowski's recent hard-court season has been made up largely of close matches that reach a third set.
Kasnikowski's hard-court record this season covers 11 completed matches with five three-set finishes and six straight-set results, split between two 2-0 wins and four 0-2 defeats. He has also won fewer second sets (four of 11) than first sets (five of 11), so the back end of his matches has been the harder part. Against an opponent with almost no completed hard-court tennis behind him this year, the length of this match is genuinely open rather than settled.
- 11 hard-court matches tracked from 4 August to 6 October 2026, averaging 23.8 total games and 2.45 sets
- Scorelines across those 11 matches: four 0-2 losses, three 2-1 wins, two 2-0 wins and two 1-2 losses
- Six of the 11 matches contained a tiebreak; set-one record 5-6, set-two record 4-7
Cretu has played two completed hard-court matches in 2026, losing 2-6 4-6 to Mayot and 5-7 3-6 to Rocha, and won 3.5 games in each of the four sets. That is too small a sample to establish a trend, and both defeats came against opponents ranked inside the top 200. It does mean there is no hard-court form on the other side of this first round to weigh against Kasnikowski's 11 matches on the surface.
- Two hard-court matches tracked: 7 September 2026 (2-6 4-6 vs Harold Mayot) and 29 September 2026 (5-7 3-6 vs Henrique Rocha)
- Both matches finished 0-2, averaging 3.5 games won and 6.25 games lost per set
- No tiebreaks across the two matches, with an average of 19.5 total games
Olbia is a 125-level Challenger, the highest tier below the main tours, so it carries a larger ranking-point and prize pool than a standard Challenger. It is played at Tennis Club Terranova in Sardinia from 11 to 18 October 2026. The singles entry list was led by four top-100 players, including former world No. 33 Jaume Munar, which sets the level of opposition in the draw. Both men are ranked outside the top 230, so this is a higher-calibre field than they normally face at Challenger level.
- Olbia Challenger runs 11-18 October 2026 at Tennis Club Terranova in Sardinia
- The original singles entry list was headed by four top-100 players, including former world No. 33 Jaume Munar
ConfirmedSources checked 12 Oct 2026, 01:51 · Europe/Bucharest
Kasnikowski's place arrived through a late revision rather than his ranking, so he enters with a compressed preparation window. His previous match was a 7-6(3), 6-1 first-round loss to Philip Henning at the Villena Challenger on 6 October, which ended his week after one match and left five days before Olbia. The withdrawal of Munar, De Jong, Ofner, Lajovic, Blanch and Cina also strips several higher-ranked seeds from the top of the draw. That thinned top end gives a late entrant a less congested path than the original entry list implied.
- Kasnikowski appears among the additions in the Olbia entry-list update
- The same update lists Munar, De Jong, Ofner, Lajovic, Blanch and Cina as withdrawals
- Kasnikowski lost his opening match at the Villena Challenger on 6 October, 7-6(3) 6-1 to Philip Henning
