Pre-match view

Context last updated 6 Oct 2026, 02:37 · Europe/Bucharest

In the Tokyo final, Alcaraz is the higher-ranked player and leads the head-to-head, but Lehecka has won six straight matches and did not face a break point in his semifinal.

Alcaraz should still win, likely needing three sets. The 1.22 on Alcaraz asks more than the evidence supports; over 23.5 games at 2.3, over 2.5 sets at 2.4 and Alcaraz 2-1 at 3.5 are the prices that offer something.

Context

The return from a lengthy right-wrist absence is current availability context for Alcaraz's first final since resuming competition. It matters here because the final follows four Tokyo matches, including a three-set semifinal . His unbeaten tournament run is an important counterpoint: the absence explains the setting, but it has not prevented him from reaching the title match.
- Alcaraz returned from a right-wrist injury absence lasting around four and a half months.
- Tokyo is his first final since that return.

The comeback put Alcaraz into a second straight Tokyo final and provides the immediate route context for this match. It shows that he recovered within the semifinal after a sharp first-set downturn, rather than carrying that sequence into the later sets. Munar presents a different serving and returning test from Lehecka, so the match does not by itself establish how Alcaraz will handle this final.
- Alcaraz recovered from a first-set loss to win the semifinal in three sets.
- He lost 16 points in a row while serving for the opening set.

Lehecka arrives with a short, two-set semifinal that was defined by uninterrupted service games. That gives this final a specific current-event contrast with Alcaraz's longer semifinal and identifies the part of Lehecka's game that carried him through the last round. Vacherot is not Alcaraz, so the clean service record does not establish that the same pattern will hold against this opponent.
- Lehecka won the semifinal 6-4, 6-2.
- He hit 10 aces and faced no break point.
- The victory put him into his second ATP Tour final of the season.

For Lehecka, the record shows one win in four attempts against the No. 3, which keeps him the underdog going into this final despite his current run.
Alcaraz has won the two most recent meetings and three of four overall, so the series supports his position as the favourite here. Lehecka's 6-3 3-6 6-4 win in February 2025 was close throughout, and in June 2025 he took Alcaraz to a deciding set before losing 7-5 6-7(5) 6-2. That makes a comfortable Alcaraz win less automatic than the ranking gap alone suggests, though the head-to-head still points one way.
- 20 February 2025: Lehecka won 6-3 3-6 6-4, his only victory in the four-meeting series.
- 22 June 2025: Alcaraz won 7-5 6-7(5) 6-2, a three-set match.
- 2 September 2025: Alcaraz won 6-4 6-2 6-4.
- 22 June 2023: Alcaraz won 6-2 6-3.
