Context last updated 30 Sep 2026, 00:52 · Europe/Bucharest

Kostovic, at a career-high No. 139, brings the stronger hard-court form into this Adana second round; Galfi arrives off a 7-5 6-0 opening win but has only three completed hard-court matches this window.

Kostovic is the likelier winner, though 1.55 asks her to justify more than that record does. The prices worth taking: Galfi with a 1.5-game head start at 2.1, and the match to finish in straight sets at 1.45.

Context

The Adana draw put Kostovic and Berfu Cengiz together again in the first round two days after the Ankara final, and Kostovic won it 6-1 when Cengiz retired following a first-set medical timeout . Coming straight off a three-set final in Ankara while Galfi won her own opener in straight sets, Kostovic's week has been built on a match that lasted little more than a set. That makes the turnaround favourable on the scoreboard, but it also means Galfi's most recent look at this opponent offers almost no evidence about how Kostovic holds up across three sets at this event.
- Kostovic beat Berfu Cengiz 6-1 ret. in the Adana Open first round
- The Adana first round paired the same two players who had contested the Ankara final on 27 September
- Cengiz took a medical timeout while trailing 0-3 in the opening set and later retired

Kostovic has won six of 10 completed hard-court matches in this window, and none of those wins needed a third set: six ended 2-0, while three of her four defeats went to a decider. The same sample contains a single tiebreak and excludes one retirement, so the pattern rests on a modest 10-match base. It points to a player who wins cleanly or loses long on this surface, and it is a relevant read against an opponent whose own hard-court record here is only three matches.
- 10 completed hard-court matches, 3 August to 27 September 2026: six 2-0 wins, three 1-2 defeats and one 0-2 defeat
- One tiebreak in the 10-match sample; one retirement excluded from it
- Kostovic won the opening set in 8 of those 10 matches
Ankara was the deepest run of Kostovic's young career at this tier: she took the first set 6-2 before Cengiz turned the final around to win 2-6 6-4 7-5. It shows the 19-year-old Serb can reach the closing stages of an event like the Adana Open, and the next day's ranking list moved her to a new career high. The limitation is that the week ended in defeat, so it qualifies her current level without giving her a trophy or any tournament-specific edge over Galfi.
- Kostovic lost the Ankara Open (WTA 125) final 2-6 6-4 7-5 to Berfu Cengiz
- Kostovic won the opening set 6-2 before Cengiz won the next two sets
- The final was the first WTA 125-level final of Kostovic's career
ConfirmedSources checked 30 Sep 2026, 00:49 · Europe/Bucharest
Kostovic's ranking moved to a career-high No. 139 on the list, a direct return on her run to the Ankara final the previous day. The number matters less as a ranking than as confirmation that the deep week at WTA 125 level was real rather than a one-off draw, and it frames her as the higher-ranked player in this pairing. It is a single list, and it does not by itself outweigh experience: Galfi reached No. 79 in September 2022 and has won WTA 125 titles, so the ranking edge here is narrow.
- Kostovic was listed at No. 139 in the ranking list
- The position was flagged as a new career high
- The move followed her run to the Ankara Open final on 27 September
