Context last updated 18 Sep 2026, 15:12 · Europe/Bucharest

Pacheco Mendez is the value side at 2.20, with superior recent hard-court form (9-5 vs 5-4) and better serve/return numbers than Kouame, despite being priced as the underdog.

Back Pacheco Mendez on the match winner; avoid Kouame at 1.60. Under 22.5 games and over 6.5 double faults are secondary angles.

Context

Pacheco Mendez, 269th, is a 191cm left-hander whose 2026 hard-court record is 22-14; Kouame, 199th, is a right-hander with a 6-5 hard-court record this year.
Pacheco Mendez's 64.3% hard-court win rate over 14 tracked matches is the stronger recent sample, and his 60% overall record in the last 15 edges Kouame's 46.7%. Kouame's overall hard-court record this year is only 6-5, so the recent numbers point one way even though the ranking gap is small.
- Pacheco Mendez last-15 hard-court record: 9-5 (64.3%) across 14 tracked matches.
- Kouame last-15 hard-court record: 5-4 (55.6%) across 9 tracked matches.
- Pacheco Mendez last-15 overall record: 9-6 (60%); Kouame last-15 overall record: 7-8 (46.7%).
- Kouame's 2026 hard-court record is 6-5; Pacheco Mendez's is 22-14.
Kouame and Pacheco Mendez meet in the Phan Thiet Challenger 50 semi-final on hard court, with a place in the final at stake.
Kouame reached this round with a 6-4, 6-2 quarter-final win over Florent Bax on 18 September, so both players arrive with a completed match behind them rather than a walkover or a rest day. The round and surface are settled; what the semi-final adds is the step up in stakes, since the winner plays for the title the next day.
- Kouame defeated Bax 6-4, 6-2 on 18 September to set a semi-final against Pacheco Mendez.
- The event is a hard-court Challenger 50 in Phan Thiet.

Kouame, 199th, has a 59% career first-serve rate and a 64% break-point save rate in the last 15; Pacheco Mendez, 269th, has a 61% career first-serve rate and a 72.9% save rate in the same window.
Pacheco Mendez's 72.9% break-point save rate across 15 tracked matches is a clear edge over Kouame's 64% across 14. Kouame also converts only 38.4% of his break points, so Pacheco Mendez's stronger serving under pressure may matter more than the ranking gap suggests.
- Pacheco Mendez last-15 break points saved: 62/85 (72.9%) across 15 matches.
- Kouame last-15 break points saved: 64/100 (64%) across 14 matches.
- Kouame last-15 break points converted: 43/112 (38.4%) across 14 matches.
- Pacheco Mendez last-15 break points converted: 37/106 (34.9%) across 15 matches.
Kouame, 199th, has a 59% career first-serve rate and has averaged 5.6 double faults per match in the last 15; Pacheco Mendez, 269th, has averaged 2.9 in the same window.
Kouame's 5.6 double faults per match across 14 tracked matches is a persistent issue, and it stands out against Pacheco Mendez's 2.9 across 15. On a hard court where Pacheco Mendez already saves break points well, Kouame's second-serve risk could hand over the small margins in this match.
- Kouame last-15 double faults per match: 5.6 (78 in 14 matches).
- Pacheco Mendez last-15 double faults per match: 2.9 (44 in 15 matches).
- Kouame last-15 second-serve points won: 50.5% (255/505).
- Pacheco Mendez last-15 second-serve points won: 54.5% (211/387).
