Pre-match view

Context last updated 12 Sep 2026, 22:43 · Europe/Bucharest

Droguet and Lajal are evenly matched in the Cassis final, with Droguet holding a slight edge due to home advantage and ranking milestone, but Lajal's recent form and close losses make him dangerous.

The match is likely to be competitive, with value on over 22.5 total games and a tiebreak occurring.

Context

Lajal, 23, is ranked 152 and has built his career on hard courts, with 130 career wins on the surface. Droguet, 25, is ranked 103 and has a more balanced surface record but has been more successful on clay historically.
Lajal's recent hard-court record is slightly better, but his opponents in the last 15 matches have been mostly lower-ranked, while Droguet has faced several top-100 players. This suggests Droguet's form may be more battle-tested, but Lajal's consistency on hard courts gives him a solid base.
- Lajal's last 15 hard-court record: 11-4 (73.3% win rate).
- Droguet's last 15 hard-court record: 9-3 (75% win rate), but with 3 matches on clay included in the overall 15.
- Lajal's recent opponents include many ranked outside the top 300, while Droguet has faced players like Matteo Berrettini (43) and Brandon Nakashima (17).
Droguet, 24, is the home player in this Cassis final and reached a career-high No. 103 after beating Nicolai Budkov Kjaer in the semifinal.
That win secured his first Top-100 entry in the next ranking update, which can add motivation in the final. However, Lajal has also won his last four matches, so the edge is slight.
- A semifinal win was the stated condition for Droguet to enter the Top 100 in the next ranking update.
- He won that semifinal in three sets on 12 September to reach the Cassis final.
- Stored recent sample: 4 wins from 5 tracked matches.

Droguet's height of 191 cm gives him a natural advantage on serve, and his recent hard-court numbers reflect that.
Droguet's first-serve points won on hard courts is 73.1%, slightly lower than Lajal's 75.1%, but Droguet's ace count is higher. This could give Droguet more free points, but Lajal's overall first-serve effectiveness is comparable.
- Droguet's hard-court aces per match: 8.1 (97 aces in 12 matches).
- Lajal's hard-court aces per match: 7.1 (107 aces in 15 matches).
- Droguet's first-serve points won on hard: 73.1%; Lajal's: 75.1%.
Droguet and Lajal are both riding winning streaks into the final, with Droguet's wins coming in the Cassis Challenger and Lajal's in the same tournament.
Both players are peaking at the right time, and the final is likely to be closely contested. Neither player has a clear momentum edge, as both have been dominant in their recent matches.
- Droguet's last four matches: W vs Budkov Kjaer (149), W vs Glinka (156), W vs Brouwer (898), W vs Chazal (429).
- Lajal's last four matches: W vs Masur (378), W vs Bertrand (409), W vs Gueymard Wayenburg (332), W vs Couturier (unranked).
