Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 28 Oct 2026, 22:16 · Europe/Bucharest

Musetti's six-match winning run and a straight-sets win over Fery in September make him favourite in the Vienna second round, but Fery's relative second-set strength and level game count across six recent matches keep it from feeling one-sided.

Musetti to win at 1.33 is the one quoted price with a clear edge; 1.4 on him for the second set offers no clear advantage, while 1.4 for the opening set, 1.4 for under 2.5 sets and 1.8 for Musetti 2-0 are too short.

Context

The only previous meeting in the brief went to Musetti in straight sets, with Fery taking five games in the third. That result is nearly two months old and does not prove current form, but it gives Musetti a direct reference point for this second-round match. Fery's stronger second-set record in the wider sample is the counterweight.
- 1 September 2026: Musetti beat Fery 6-3 6-3 7-5 on hard in their only listed meeting.
The second set is the clearest positive in Fery's sample: seven wins in 11 matches, with three tiebreaks. That matters against a Musetti side that won 10 of 13 second sets, because it suggests Fery may be more resistant after the opener. The sample is small and ends on 20 October, so it cannot capture anything after that date.
- 15 August–20 October 2026, 11 hard-court best-of-three matches: Fery won 7 second sets and lost 4, averaging 5.5 games to 4.5 games, with 3 tiebreaks.
The win was tight in score but came in straight sets, with a first-set tiebreak and a 7-5 second. Tiafoe's No. 9 ranking makes it a stronger recent result than Fery's straight-set loss to Borna Gojo (No. 148) on 20 October. One match does not establish a trend, but it is the most current form evidence in the brief.
- 28 October 2026: Musetti beat Frances Tiafoe (No. 9) 7-6 7-5 on indoor hard; single listed match.
