Context last updated 27 Oct 2026, 03:26 · Europe/Bucharest

Sakamoto's hard-court serve and 10-5 sample against Zhang's 3-7 make him the likely winner of this Seoul second round, though Zhang's 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 win over Marin Cilic on 26 October shows he can stretch a match.

Sakamoto to win at 1.44 is the one reviewed price that offers a small return; the 1.50 quotes on the first and second sets do not.

Context

Sakamoto's 13-match hard-court sample runs from 28 August to 26 October 2026 and averages 22.8 total games per match.
Straight-set finishes have been the norm in his hard-court matches, which points to a shorter contest if he controls the scoreboard. Zhang has taken five of 10 first sets in his own sample, so the pattern hinges on Sakamoto's start rather than being guaranteed.
- Away setEvidence: 10 of 13 hard-court best-of-three matches ended 2-0 or 0-2, earliest 28 August 2026, latest 26 October 2026.
- Away setEvidence: total sets average 2.23 and total games average 22.85 across those 13 matches.
- Away setEvidence: first sets 9 wins, 4 losses, with 5.54 games won to 4.46 lost.
Zhang arrives as the lower-ranked player but off a completed three-set win over a top-100 opponent.
That result shows Zhang can hold his level into a deciding set, the main risk to a quick Sakamoto win. It was one match, and his hard-court sample over 10 matches still stands at 3-7 with 48.4% of points won.
- Home recentMatches[0]: 2-1 win over Marin Cilic (ranked 84) on 26 October 2026, sets 7-6, 2-6, 6-3, games 15-15.
- Home recentMatches[1]: 0-2 loss to Yi Zhou (ranked 280) on 21 October 2026.
- Home currentSurface: 3-7 in 10 hard-court matches, 48.4% total points won.
A straight-set win over a top-25 opponent is the strongest single result in his recent run and underlines the level behind a 10-5 hard-court record. The De Minaur defeat two days later shows the same week also brought a straight-sets loss to a top-10 player.
- Away recentMatches[5]: 2-0 win over Andrey Rublev (ranked 22) on 9 October 2026, 6-4 6-4.
- Away recentMatches[4]: 0-2 loss to Alex De Minaur (ranked 8) on 11 October 2026, 6-7, 4-6.
- Away currentSurface: 10-5 in 15 hard-court matches, 51.1% total points won.
Close sets are common in his matches even when he loses, giving the underdog a route to keeping the opener tight. Sakamoto has played four tiebreaks in 13 hard-court matches over a shorter window from 28 August.
- Home setEvidence: 7 of 10 hard-court best-of-three matches with a tiebreak, 13 July to 26 October 2026.
- Home setEvidence: 4 first-set tiebreaks and 3 second-set tiebreaks in those 10 matches.
- Away setEvidence: 4 of 13 hard-court best-of-three matches with a tiebreak, 28 August to 26 October 2026.
