Context last updated 16 Oct 2026, 23:03 · Europe/Bucharest

Top seed Jacob Fearnley has not dropped a set in Olbia, but he meets the last Italian standing, Luca Nardi, who beat the fourth seed and is in a Challenger semi-final for the first time since January.

Fearnley is the likelier winner, yet the 1.33 match price, the 1.44 set prices and the 1.85 on a 2-0 win all ask more than his form justifies. Only 4.0 on Fearnley winning 2-1 offers anything.

Context

Nardi, 23, is into a Challenger semifinal for the first time since January, ending a nine-month wait in a season he says has been shaped by injuries. The gap matters because his ranking has fallen to No. 251 while Fearnley sits at No. 96, so part of that deficit reflects disrupted availability rather than a settled level difference. He has still won three matches in Olbia, including a straight-sets win over fourth seed Mmoh, so he arrives with match sharpness. That keeps the fixture closer than the rankings alone imply, though the injury history leaves his durability across a full week uncertain.
- Nardi advanced to the Olbia semifinals
- His previous Challenger semifinal came in January 2026, a nine-month gap
- Nardi described his 2026 season as conditioned by injuries

Fearnley is the top seed and has not dropped a set in Olbia, his 6-0 7-6(4) quarterfinal over Maxim Mrva the most one-sided of three straight-sets wins. It is his third ATP Challenger semifinal of the season, and he holds the highest ranking in the remaining field at No. 96. The caveat is that none of his Olbia opponents were seeded, so the unblemished run has come against lower-ranked players; Nardi, a former No. 67, is a different test. Whether Fearnley's level holds against a higher-quality ball-striker is the question this semifinal answers.
- Fearnley is the top seed at the Olbia Challenger
- He reached his third ATP Challenger semifinal of the season
- All three Olbia wins came in straight sets

Nardi's 6-4 6-4 quarterfinal win over fourth seed Michael Mmoh made him the last Italian standing and kept the home crowd behind him; the tournament is carried nationally on SuperTennis. Playing an Italian in Sardinia gives the crowd a clear side to support, which can matter in the tight sets that decide Challenger semifinals. The point is limited, though: crowd backing is not a measurable playing edge, and the win over Mmoh was built on baseline control rather than external help. Treat this as atmosphere and a named-scalp note, not a change to the forecast.
- Mmoh was the fourth seed in Olbia
- Nardi beat Mmoh 6-4 6-4
- Nardi is the only Italian remaining in the semifinals

Nardi arrives with home support and three wins this week, but with a very short hard-court record behind him.
All four of Nardi's completed hard-court best-of-three matches fall between Oct 5 and Oct 16, 2026, so 3-1 is a snapshot rather than a settled surface rate. He split four opening sets but won three of four second sets, and one of the four matches went to a deciding set, which he won. Fearnley's comparable hard best-of-three set evidence covers twelve matches from Aug 5 to Oct 16, a firmer base for this semi-final.
- Nardi's hard-court best-of-three set evidence covers 4 completed matches from Oct 5 to Oct 16, 2026
- Record 3-1, with first sets 2-2 and second sets 3-1
- Total games average 21.75, with one of the four matches decided by a tiebreak
- One retired match is excluded from that surface sample
