Unranked Sciahbasi takes on No.

438 Manzano in a Bari Challenger 50 first round on clay, and Manzano's stronger recent opposition makes him the likely winner. His 1.3 price asks far more than his 7-8 clay record justifies, while Sciahbasi at 3.5 is the one price here with something behind it, given 10 wins in his last 14 clay matches.

Context

Manzano's immediate prior match splits sharply: he won the opening set 6-0 against Genoa 2 third seed Lukas Neumayer, ranked No. 183, then won only five of the next seventeen games in a 6-4 6-1 loss. He had beaten Samuele Pieri, ranked No. 395, in straight sets in the previous round, so his September results hold up against players around and above his own ranking until the closing stages of a match. A single three-set match is a limited basis for reading his physical state, so the useful signal is the shape of the scoreline rather than a settled judgement about his condition.
- Manzano won the opening set 6-0 against third seed Lukas Neumayer before losing 4-6 1-6 in the Genoa 2 round of 16 .
- Two days earlier he beat Samuele Pieri, ranked No. 395, 6-4 6-2 in the first round.
- Neumayer was the third seed at Genoa 2 and ranked No. 183.

Manzano is the higher-ranked of the two, but his clay form in this window has given opponents a way in.
Sciahbasi has won 10 of his 14 clay matches over the same period, so a favourite with a losing clay record and a low break-point save rate is the main reason this first round looks closer than the ranking gap suggests. It does not prove Sciahbasi will take those chances, and Manzano has been beating higher-ranked clay opponents than Sciahbasi has this month.
- Manzano went 7-8 across 15 clay matches between 9 August and 23 September 2026.
- He saved 44 of the 100 break points he faced and averaged 3.3 double faults per match over those 15 matches.
Manzano won a main-draw match at the Biella Challenger 50 before fourth seed Alex Barrena, ranked No. 216, ended his run in straight sets. It is recent evidence that he holds his level in Challenger main draws, which matters for this fixture because his opponent's current results come from the tier below. The quarterfinal itself was a straight-set defeat to a seed, so the run shows he is competing at this level rather than closing out matches against higher-ranked players.
- Barrena, seeded fourth and ranked No. 216, beat Manzano 6-3 6-4 in the Biella quarterfinals .
- Manzano had beaten Tommaso Compagnucci 6-4 6-3 to reach that quarterfinal.
- The Biella event is a Challenger 50 played on clay.

Sciahbasi's most recent tournament was on the ITF M25 circuit, one tier below the Challenger level of this fixture, where he beat seventh seed Lorenzo Angelini in a second-set tiebreak before losing his quarterfinal to compatriot Daniele Rapagnetta. It confirms recent match wins and clay-court rhythm going into Bari, while also placing his competitive reference points this month at M25 rather than Challenger main-draw level. Rain made the Pula week a compressed one, so the quarterfinal was reached without a long rest between rounds.
- Sciahbasi beat seventh seed Lorenzo Angelini 6-3 7-6(5) in the second round at Santa Margherita di Pula.
- He lost the quarterfinal to compatriot Daniele Rapagnetta 6-3 6-3 .
- Rain disrupted the Santa Margherita di Pula schedule during that week's play.
