Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 14 Sep 2026, 03:38 · Europe/Bucharest

Noma Akugue Noha's recent clay success may not translate to hard courts, where Ayana Akli has been strong.

The match winner market offers no value, but the total games over 20.5 could be a viable angle. Expect a competitive match with surface dynamics playing a key role.

Context

Akli, ranked 265, has built most of her recent results on hard courts, winning 9 of 14 matches in that span. Noha, ranked 137, has spent most of the last two months on clay, where she won 7 of 11 matches.
This first-round match is on hard court, which suits Akli's recent schedule and results better. Noha's only hard-court match in her last 15 was a three-set loss to Anna Siskova in late August, so she has little recent evidence on this surface. Akli's hard-court sample is much larger and includes wins over players ranked inside the top 200, giving her a clearer surface-specific form line.
- Akli's last 15 matches: 14 on hard, 9 wins, 5 losses.
- Noha's last 15 matches: 11 on clay, 3 on hard, 1 on grass; hard-court record 1-2.
- Noha lost her most recent hard-court match to Anna Siskova (ranked 208) on Aug 25.
- Akli beat Priscilla Hon (ranked 156) and Emerson Jones (ranked 126) on hard in July.
Akli's recent log shows a retirement against Ena Koike on July 1, but she returned to play 10 more matches through August 24 without another retirement.
The retirement is over two months old and she has since completed multiple matches, so it is unlikely to be an active physical issue. However, the three-week gap since her last match could mean she arrives without recent match rhythm, which may matter in a first-round match against an opponent who played as recently as September 13.
- Akli retired at 3-1 in the third set against Ena Koike on July 1, 2026.
- She played 10 matches after that retirement, with no further retirements.
- Her last match was a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 loss to Mia Ristic on August 24.
- Noha played on September 13, two days before this match.
