Alex Rybakov #707United States22 – 0Bor Artnak #5150

The winner enters the main draw of a Challenger 75, where ranking points and prize money sit well above qualifying level, so the stakes here are larger than the gap between No. 515 and No. 707 suggests. Both men played the opening qualifying round at the same venue, which gives each a direct read on the hard courts and removes any acclimatisation difference between them. The limitation is that neither has faced a main-draw opponent this week, so every form line behind this match comes from qualifying-level opposition.

Artnak lost the opening set from a tiebreak and still closed the match in three sets, which says something about his ability to reset within a match rather than about his level across the week. The route also cost him more court time than Rybakov's 6-4, 6-4 win on the same day, and in a single-match qualifying final that extra set is the only measurable workload difference between the two. The counterpoint is that this is one match: there is no evidence from this week about how he holds up across consecutive days of long matches, so the recovery reading should stay narrow.

Fort Worth is contested on outdoor hard courts, and Rybakov has spent nearly his entire recent schedule on that surface, including two qualifying wins and an indoor hard-court block in late September. Artnak's previous 14 matches came on clay between late July and mid-August, then he went two months without a competitive match before winning a three-setter on hard courts . The combination of surface change and layoff points the same direction, though a single hard-court match this week is thin evidence of how quickly he has adjusted, and his three-set win shows he can compete on it already.

The opening set is the part of the match where Rybakov's recent record is most one-sided.

Eleven first sets from 14 is the most lopsided number either player brings into this qualifying final, and it is the main reason Rybakov reads as the likelier winner despite the ranking gap. The caveat sits in the same sample: he lost three opening sets in that stretch, so a fast start is a pattern rather than a guarantee. Artnak lost his only hard-court first set this week on a tiebreak, which suggests the set can stay close.
