Context last updated 4 Oct 2026, 15:53 · Europe/Bucharest

First round in Suzhou: Ibragimova, ranked 168, faces Sramkova, 152, holding the only meeting in the record, 6-2 6-4 in August.

Her steadier hard-court form makes her the likelier winner. The 2.1 on Ibragimova asks for less than her case deserves, and Under 2.5 sets at 1.5 is a smaller edge; Sramkova at 1.73 and Over 2.5 sets at 2.3 ask for more than the evidence supports.

Context

Ibragimova is the lower-ranked player here but arrives with the head-to-head win behind her.
That 12-6 games margin is a single match rather than a pattern, so it supports Ibragimova's side of the matchup without settling it; Sramkova's serve numbers give her the route back into it.
- 24 August 2026: Ibragimova won 6-2 6-4 on hard court, taking 12 games to 6
- It is the only head-to-head in the supplied record
- Sramkova's two completed matches since, on 21 and 28 September 2026, were both straight-set defeats
Sramkova's first serve is the clearest single weapon either player brings to this first round.
If that serve lands, Sramkova can keep points short, but she has landed only 51.7% of first serves across the same 11 matches (368 of 712), which is where Ibragimova's superior return numbers can take over.
- 11 hard-court matches: 66.0% first-serve points won, 4.9 aces per match, 57.4% of break points saved
- First-serve-in rate across those 11 matches: 51.7% (368 of 712)
- Ibragimova's hard-court equivalents across seven matches: 55.3% first-serve points won and 2.0 aces per match
Ibragimova comes in off a three-set defeat to a player ranked well below both women in this draw.
One loss to a much lower-ranked opponent is a reminder of how quickly her level can move, but it is a single match and does not cancel out her hard-court results or the August win over Sramkova.
- 1 October 2026: lost to Kyoka Okamura (ranked 303) 7-6 1-6 3-6, 11 games to 18
- Okamura's ranking of 303 sits well below Ibragimova's 168 and Sramkova's 152
- It is Ibragimova's most recent completed match, and her second three-set match in the space of three days
Sramkova's recent hard-court matches have tended to resolve inside two sets, one way or the other.
That pattern points toward a short match here, though it cuts both ways for Sramkova: she has lost four of the nine straight-set matches as well as winning five, so a quick finish is not automatically a good one for her.
- 11 hard-court matches, 25 July to 28 September 2026: five 2-0 wins, four 0-2 losses, two 1-2 defeats
- Average sets per match in that sample: 2.18
- No tiebreaks in any of those 11 matches
