Droguet and Lajal meet again 12 days after Droguet won the Cassis final 6-4 7-6(3), with Droguet the higher-ranked top seed but carrying five straight three-setters while Lajal has not dropped a set in Saint-Tropez.

Droguet is the likelier winner. None of the reviewed prices offers anything: Droguet at 1.6 for the match, and at 1.7 and 1.65 for the first two sets, all ask more than the evidence supports, and Lajal at 2.2 does too.

Context

Since 17 September Droguet has gone to a third set in every match, and his two rounds in Saint-Tropez included the two-tie-break win over Karl Poling followed by another three-setter against Borna Gojo. Lajal's route was 6-3 6-4 over David Goffin, a free day, then 6-1 6-2 over Thomas Faurel. Recovery is the practical question in a quarterfinal where one player has repeatedly been taken past two hours and the other has not. Droguet has won four of those five three-setters, so the workload has not yet cost him a match.
- Droguet's last five completed matches, from 17 to, all went to three sets
- Droguet's first round in Saint-Tropez against Karl Poling finished 6-7(6) 6-4 7-6(4)
- Droguet played 148 games across 14 sets between 16 and, more than double Borna Gojo's 67 games over the same period
- Lajal won his two rounds here 6-3 6-4 and 6-1 6-2, with a rest day between them

Lajal comes in ranked 59 places below Droguet yet with the stronger aggregate numbers over a comparable run of hard-court matches.
Over 15 hard-court matches each, Lajal has taken 54.3% of total points to Droguet's 52.8% and leads on return points won (43.0% to 39.9%), break points converted (43.1% to 38.8%) and saved (70.9% to 65.1%), while Droguet's serve has produced more aces per match, 8.7 to 5.7, and fewer double faults, 2.9 to 3.5. Those aggregates already include Lajal's straight-sets loss to Droguet in Cassis, so the same window contains a direct answer to the ranking gap.
- Lajal: 54.3% of total points won (1139 of 2098) across 15 hard-court matches, 14 August to 23 September 2026
- Droguet: 52.8% of total points won (1338 of 2536) across 15 hard-court matches, 11 August to 23 September 2026
- Return points won: Lajal 43.0% (452 of 1051), Droguet 39.9% (519 of 1302), same samples
- Break points converted: Lajal 43.1% (50 of 116), Droguet 38.8% (50 of 129), same samples
The previous meeting is 12 days old and was decided on the same outdoor hard courts, so both players arrive with a recent, complete read on each other. Droguet won it 6-4 7-6(3) for his third Challenger title, and a tie-break second set means the margin was narrower than a straight-sets win usually implies. Both have since won two matches here, so this quarterfinal is the second instalment of a matchup neither player has to learn from scratch on the day.
- Droguet def. Lajal 6-4 7-6(3) in the Cassis Challenger 75 final
- Droguet won the third Challenger title of his career at Cassis, with Lajal as runner-up
- Both players came through two rounds at the Saint-Tropez Challenger 125 to reach the quarterfinal
ConfirmedSources checked 24 Sep 2026, 02:38 · Europe/Bucharest
Droguet's move to a career-best No. 84 rests on a 10-win run over his last 11 matches across Cassis, Rennes and Saint-Tropez, with the Cassis title the third Challenger crown of his career. That run is why he is the top seed here and the higher-ranked player in this quarterfinal. The climb has been built at Challenger 75 and 125 level, where the field is thinner than on the ATP Tour, so it describes his standing on this circuit rather than how he responds to a particular opponent.
- Droguet won the third Challenger title of his career at Cassis in September 2026
- The Cassis title lifted him to a career-best ATP ranking of No. 89
- Droguet is the top seed at the Saint-Tropez Challenger 125 and is ranked No. 84
- Droguet has won 10 of his last 11 matches
