Context last updated 15 Sep 2026, 15:26 · Europe/Bucharest

Pavlovic is the clear favorite with superior ranking, hard-court form, and serve, but the moneyline offers no value at 1.18.

Better angles include over 10.5 total aces and Heck +3.5 games, as Heck's qualifying momentum could keep it closer than odds suggest.

Context

Pavlovic, ranked 196, is a 196cm right-hander with a strong serve and a career win rate of 60%, though his success has mostly come on clay.
On hard courts in his last 10 matches, Pavlovic has a 70% win rate and wins 79.7% of first-serve points, while Heck has a 46.7% win rate in his last 15 matches overall. This suggests Pavlovic's serve and recent results give him a clear advantage, but Heck's recent three-match winning streak in this tournament shows he is in good form right now.
- Pavlovic's last 15 overall record is 9-6 (60%), but on hard courts it is 7-3 (70%).
- Heck's last 15 overall record is 7-8 (46.7%), all on hard courts.
- Pavlovic wins 79.7% of first-serve points on hard courts in his last 10 matches, compared to Heck's 69.8% overall.
Hunter Heck came through qualifying for this Phan Thiet Challenger, playing three matches from 13 to 15 September. Luka Pavlovic, the No. 2 seed, entered the main draw directly and played once on 15 September.
Heck carries a heavier same-week singles load and a shorter recovery window before this second-round match. That extra workload could affect his energy in a best-of-three contest, though his qualifying wins also mean he is match-tested on these courts.
- The 14-20 September Phan Thiet Challenger is a hard-court ATP Challenger 50 event. The draw lists Heck as a qualifier and Pavlovic as the second seed.

Heck, ranked 700, is a 173cm right-hander who has struggled against higher-ranked opponents this year but has found success in qualifying events.
Heck's three wins this week came against opponents ranked 431, 617, and an unranked player, all in straight sets. This run suggests he is comfortable on these courts, but the step up to Pavlovic, ranked 196, will be a significant test.
- Heck's last three matches: 6-3 6-2 vs Sultanov (rank 431), 6-3 6-2 vs Dev (rank 617), 6-2 6-2 vs Cook (unranked).
- Heck has not dropped a set in this tournament.
- Pavlovic's recent wins include opponents ranked 190, 192, 242, and 296.
Pavlovic's height and serving power are key weapons, especially on hard courts where he can generate more pace.
Pavlovic's ace rate and first-serve points won (79.7%) suggest he can hold serve easily and put pressure on Heck's return game. Heck's return points won is 40.2%, which is decent but may not be enough to break Pavlovic consistently.
- Pavlovic averages 10.8 aces per match on hard courts in his last 10 matches.
- Heck averages 3.7 aces per match in his last 15 matches.
- Pavlovic wins 79.7% of first-serve points on hard courts; Heck wins 69.8% overall.
