Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 14 Sep 2026, 22:52 · Europe/Bucharest

Aksu has a slight edge in ranking and recent form, but Malygina's H2H win and stronger return game make this a close contest.

The best betting angle is over 21.5 total games, with a 7.4-point edge over the market. Avoid backing Aksu at 1.65, as the odds overstate her chances.

Context

Aksu, ranked 203, is a right-hander with a career win rate of 59.7% and a solid hard-court record in 2026 (9-8).
Her recent hard-court results show inconsistency: she lost to Lucrezia Stefanini (rank 119) and Alana Smith (rank 425) in her last two matches. However, she has wins over players ranked around 150 and 133 in the same period, suggesting she can compete at this level but is vulnerable to early exits.
- Last 15 overall record: 8-7 (53.3%)
- Last two hard-court matches: losses to Stefanini (6-2 6-3) and Smith (6-4 7-5)
- Wins over Costoulas (rank 150) and Charaeva (rank 133) in July
Malygina, ranked 304, has a career win rate of 58.9% and a stronger record on indoor hard courts than outdoor hard courts.
Her recent hard-court form is encouraging: she beat Gabriella Da Silva Fick and Giulia Pereira De Aguiar in straight sets this month. However, the sample is only three matches, so it is hard to draw strong conclusions about her current level on this surface.
- Last 15 hard-court record: 2-1 (66.7%)
- Recent hard-court wins: Da Silva Fick (7-6 6-3) and Pereira De Aguiar (6-0 6-2)
- Only 3 hard-court matches in last 15
The two players met once before, in October 2022, with Malygina winning 6-1 4-6 6-0.
That result gives Malygina a psychological edge, but it is too old to be a reliable indicator of current form. Both players have changed their games and rankings since then, so the head-to-head should be treated as a minor factor.
- 2022-10-06: Malygina def. Aksu 6-1 4-6 6-0 on hard court
- Malygina leads head-to-head 1-0
