Fiona Ferro #146France22 – 0Lucie Havlickova #230Czechia0

Ferro, 29, is a clay-court specialist with a career 237-124 record on the surface and is ranked 141. Havlickova, 21, has a 61-38 career clay record and is ranked 226.

Ferro's recent clay sample is much larger and more convincing: she has won 12 of 14 matches, including her last five, while Havlickova's 3-1 clay record comes from only four matches. Ferro also has a higher return points won percentage on clay (51% vs 49%) and a better break point conversion rate (52% vs 50%). However, Havlickova's first serve points won on clay (68%) is slightly better than Ferro's (59.9%), so she can hold serve if she gets first serves in.

Havlickova advanced to this quarterfinal without playing a second-round match, receiving a walkover from Lucija Ciric Bagaric on 10 September.

Ferro completed a 6-4, 6-4 win over Barbora Palicova the same day, so she has more recent match minutes. Havlickova's fresher legs could help in a long match, but Ferro's rhythm from a full win may offset that.

Havlickova's first serve is a weapon when it lands, but her second serve is vulnerable. Ferro is a steady returner who can extend rallies.

Havlickova averages 2.9 aces per match overall and 3.8 on clay, but she also averages 6.3 double faults per match overall and 4.3 on clay. Ferro averages only 0.8 aces and 1.7 double faults overall, and 0.7 aces and 1.6 double faults on clay. This means Havlickova will likely give Ferro more free points on second serves, and Ferro's 51% return points won on clay suggests she can capitalize.

The two players met once before, in April 2026 on clay, and Ferro won in three sets.

That match showed Ferro's resilience: she lost the second set 0-6 but recovered to win the third 6-3. Havlickova had a higher break point conversion rate (50% vs 28%) but Ferro still won, suggesting Ferro can absorb pressure and find a way. However, one match is a small sample, and Havlickova has improved her clay results since then.
