Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 31 Aug 2026, 15:41 · Europe/Bucharest

Kym has better recent form and serve stats, but his hard-court sample is tiny and Bertola's grass-court success suggests he can compete.

The market overprices Kym at 1.15, so avoid that bet. Instead, consider over 22.5 total games, over 2.5 sets, and a tiebreak in the match.

Context

Kym, 23, is a tall right-hander with a two-handed backhand and has been more consistent recently, winning 10 of his last 15 matches.
Bertola has struggled on hard courts, winning only 1 of his last 5 matches on the surface, while Kym has a 50% win rate in his two recent hard-court matches. Kym's better overall form and slightly stronger serve numbers could give him an advantage in this matchup.
- Kym's last 15 overall record: 10-5 (66.7% win rate).
- Bertola's last 15 overall record: 8-7 (53.3% win rate).
- Bertola's last 5 hard-court matches: 1-4 record.
Bertola, 28, is a right-hander with a one-handed backhand and has a career hard-court win percentage of 60.5%, but his recent hard-court form has dipped.
Bertola's last five hard-court matches include losses to players ranked 196, 184, 100, and 444, with his only win coming against a player ranked 235. Kym's two hard-court matches this year were a win over a player ranked 277 and a loss to a player ranked 221, so the surface may not favor either player strongly.
- Bertola's last 5 hard-court matches: 1-4 record.
- Bertola's hard-court losses include defeats to players ranked 196, 184, 100, and 444.
- Kym's last 2 hard-court matches: 1-1 record.
Kym's serve has been a weapon recently, with an average of 8.2 aces per match and a 60.5% first-serve percentage in his last 15 matches.
Bertola's first-serve percentage is only 56% and he averages 6.7 aces per match, while Kym's first-serve points won is 77.1% compared to Bertola's 74.2%. Kym's stronger serve could help him hold serve more easily and put pressure on Bertola's return game.
- Kym's last 15: 8.2 aces per match, 60.5% first serve in, 77.1% first serve points won.
- Bertola's last 15: 6.7 aces per match, 56% first serve in, 74.2% first serve points won.
Bertola, 35, is the right-hander in this matchup and reached No. 174 in the ATP rankings.
He retired from an August 8 match but completed matches on August 9, 24, and 26, so he has returned to competition. This reduces concern about his immediate availability.
- The August 8 match is recorded as a retirement, followed by completed matches on August 9, 24 and 26.
- Stored recent sample: 1 wins from 5 tracked matches.

Markets to Avoid

High-risk markets where price or context leaves too little cushion.

Kym's price is too short given his limited hard-court sample and Bertola's recent grass-court competitiveness.
