Quick Take

Read first

Context last updated 1 Nov 2026, 22:20 · Europe/Bucharest

Poullain's ranking edge and first-serve numbers meet Kelm's stronger return and game-winning rates in the last qualifying round indoors in Bratislava.

Poullain is the likelier winner, yet 1.4 on him asks for 71.4% of a match that reads closer than that. Kelm at 2.75 implies 36.4% and is the one price carrying an edge.

Context

No confirmed availability, venue or tournament news was found, so the read rests on recent hard-court records, and Kelm's surface sample is only four matches.

Poullain's recent hard-court tennis has tended to be brief, with few three-set days.
Only four of those 15 matches went the distance, which sets the expectation of a compact best-of-three contest. The split inside matches is uneven: he has lost 9 of 15 first sets but won 8 of 15 second sets. That makes the opener the shakier part of his day and the second set the steadier one.
- 15 hard-court matches tracked from 20 August to 1 November 2026, averaging 21.47 total games and 2.27 sets.
- Scorelines within that sample: five 2-0 wins, six 0-2 defeats, three 2-1 wins and one 1-2 defeat.
- First sets: 6 won, 9 lost; second sets: 8 won, 7 lost.
Kelm's small hard-court sample points to longer matches than Poullain's, but it is a thin base.
Three of those four matches went to a third set, and he converted only 9 of 35 break points, or 25.7%, on the surface. That low conversion is the clearest gap against his overall 43.8% rate over 15 matches. Four matches is far too few to treat as a stable pattern, so it qualifies rather than drives the read.
- Four hard-court matches tracked from 13 October to 1 November 2026: two wins, two losses.
- Average 27.25 total games and 2.75 sets, with three of the four going to a third set.
- Break points converted on hard: 9 of 35 (25.7%), against 43.8% over 15 matches overall.
Poullain arrives on the back of a brief, one-sided qualifying win the day before this match.
Lanik was ranked 886, so the scoreline reflects routine progress rather than a test against a comparable opponent. What it does show is Poullain finishing points quickly and without a third set on the day before this fixture. It supports the pattern of short matches in his recent record.
- Poullain beat Tomas Lanik (ranked 886) 6-2 6-1 on 1 November 2026, winning 12 games to 3.
- The match was completed in two sets with no retirement.
Kelm's route through qualifying was long and came after losing the opening set heavily.
The win came despite a 1-6 first set and a final set decided by the finest margin, leaving an unusual 14-15 game count in his favour only on sets. That is extra court time on the day before this match, a workload fact rather than proof of fatigue. Prihodko was ranked 447, close to Kelm's own level.
- Kelm beat Oleg Prihodko (ranked 447) 1-6 6-3 7-6 on 1 November 2026.
- Kelm won 14 games to 15 across the match, taking it in three sets with no retirement.
