Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 27 Oct 2026, 15:32 · Europe/Bucharest

A ranking gap of more than 200 places separates Rottgering from Bigun, but Bigun's serve and quick starts make this second round closer than that gap suggests.

Rottgering is the likelier winner, though the 1.18 on him asks for a dominance his 10-5 hard-court record does not show. The one price that offers something is Bigun at 4.25.

Context

Bigun's fast starts are the strongest part of his recent hard-court form.
Bigun's first-set strength is the main reason he stays live here: he has won 11 of 15 opening sets on hard courts. The counterweight is his second set, where he has slipped to 8-7 with a negative games margin, and five of his 15 matches went to a third set. A fast start does not guarantee the same level through the match.
- 15 hard-court matches, 7 Aug to 27 Oct 2026: 11 first sets won, 4 lost, 5.7 games won and 3.6 games lost on average.
- Same 15 matches: second sets 8 won, 7 lost, 4.5 games won and 4.9 games lost.
- Only one first-set tiebreak across those 15 opening sets.
Rottgering's recent hard-court matches have been short, whatever the result.
Rottgering's 15 hard-court matches have mostly ended quickly, with nine 2-0 scorelines and an average of 2.07 sets and 19.9 games. That pattern supports a short match here, but the five straight-set defeats in the same window show the brevity has worked both ways. It is a shape of match, not a guarantee of who wins it.
- 15 hard-court matches, 12 Aug to 27 Oct 2026: scorelines of 2-0 nine times, 0-2 five times, 2-1 once.
- Average 2.07 sets and 19.87 total games per match across that window.
Rottgering's most recent completed match was a clean straight-set win against a top-200 opponent.
Rottgering arrives off a 6-3 6-4 win over a player ranked 182, the strongest name on paper among the results listed in this window. One match is a thin basis for a trend, and the same 15-match record contains five defeats. It does show he can close out a straight-set win on this surface.
- 27 Oct 2026, Sioux Falls first round: Rottgering beat Alexis Galarneau (ranked 182) 6-3 6-4, winning 12 games to 7.
- The result sits inside a 10-5 hard-court record across 15 matches from 12 Aug to 27 Oct 2026.
