Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 27 Oct 2026, 15:07 · Europe/Bucharest

A 336-place ranking gap says Sofia Costoulas should edge this, but she has no completed clay match in the tracked window while Valeriya Strakhova is 6-2 on the surface since late August.

Costoulas is the slight pick, on ranking alone, and that read carries only low confidence. No quoted price was supplied for review, so there is nothing here worth backing.

Context

Strakhova, ranked 499, has done her recent winning on clay rather than on hard courts.
Across the eight clay matches, Strakhova averaged 5.125 games won against 3.0 games lost in the first set and 5.625 games against 3.25 games in the second. Total games averaged 21.5 and sets 2.5, with four of the eight finishing 2-0. One retired match was excluded from the sample and the opposition level was modest, which limits how far the record travels into this first round.
- Set evidence, clay, best-of-3: 8 matches tracked, 26 Aug to 26 Oct 2026, record 6-2
- Scorelines: four 2-0 wins, two 2-1 wins, two 1-2 losses; one retired match excluded
- Set 1: 5.125 games won vs 3.0 games lost; Set 2: 5.625 games vs 3.25 games
- Total games average 21.5; total sets average 2.5
Costoulas, ranked 163, is the higher-ranked player, but her clay level here is unmeasured rather than proven weak.
Her six listed recent entries, from 3 September to 1 October 2026, were all on hard courts, the last a 3-6 4-6 loss to Sofya Lansere, ranked 265. A 7-7 record across 14 tracked matches is a general guide that says little about clay specifically. Strakhova has eight clay matches in the same window, which is why the surface question works against the ranking gap.
- Last-15 overall: 7 wins and 7 losses across 14 matches tracked
- Current-surface clay sample: 0 matches tracked, 0 wins, 0 losses
- No first-serve, return or game averages available for either sample
