Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 26 Oct 2026, 15:10 · Europe/Bucharest

A 153-place ranking gap says Ortenzi, but Bosio's clay sample — 8-2 in ten matches, nine of ten first sets won — says otherwise, and that is the tension in this Curitiba first round.

Bosio is the sporting lean. At 3.75 to win and 2.4 with a 3.5-game start, the price gives her less credit than her clay record warrants; Ortenzi's 1.29 asks far more than her 5-5 clay record supports.

Context

Bosio's early-match numbers on clay are the strongest single strand in her record.
Those ten first sets produced no tiebreaks and only 8.6 total games on average, so the edge came from clean breaks rather than tight set endings. The caveat is timing: the sample stops on 6 September and her three completed matches since have been on hard courts, so this is her most recent clay evidence rather than current clay form.
- Bosio's ten-match clay sample (2 August–6 September 2026) shows 9 first sets won and 1 lost.
- Across those first sets she averaged 5.8 games won against 2.8 games lost.
- None of the ten first sets in the sample reached a tiebreak.
Ortenzi's clay run is the more current of the two, having continued through mid-October while Bosio's finished in early September.
Her matches lasted 20.9 games and 2.3 sets on average, against 18.9 games and 2.2 sets across Bosio's ten clay matches, and three of her ten went to a deciding set against two of Bosio's. That leans toward a match that can extend, though both samples are small and Ortenzi is only 5-5 across them.
- Ortenzi's ten clay matches (4 June–14 October 2026) averaged 20.9 total games and 2.3 sets.
- Three of those ten went to a deciding set: two 1-2 losses and one 2-1 win.
- Five of the ten were played in October 2026, the latest a 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 loss to Polona Hercog on 14 October.
