Pre-match view

Context last updated 26 Oct 2026, 07:49 · Europe/Bucharest

Cerundolo has beaten Altmaier in straight sets three times in 2026, most recently 7-6 6-3 on 25 October, yet both men's hard-court matches average just over 22.5 games.

Cerundolo to win at 1.65 and under 2.5 sets at 1.50 both offer a positive edge, as does Cerundolo for the first set at 1.65; under 22.5 games at 2.20 is the widest margin but the tightest fit.

Context

Both men completed indoor hard-court matches on 25 October and the supplied research contains no availability or fitness news for either. The conditions match the samples behind every number here, so nothing external shifts the matchup beyond the head-to-head and recent hard-court form.

Cerundolo has had the answers in this matchup across the 2026 season.
The straight-sets pattern is real across the three meetings, which is why the shorter formats keep being projected. The 25 October scoreline is a caution: one tiebreak decided the opening set and the match finished on 22 games, right at the games line. Three matches is a small sample and the rankings are six places apart, so this reads as a lean rather than a settled edge.
- 25 October 2026, indoor hard: Cerundolo beat Altmaier 7-6 6-3, taking 13 games to 9.
- It was their third completed meeting of 2026; the previous two, on 10 February and 23 April, also finished in straight sets for Cerundolo.
The opening set has been Altmaier's weakest segment of the hard-court season.
A slow start is the most consistent feature of Altmaier's recent hard-court record, which is why Cerundolo's fast starts matter here. The 4.5 games he wins per first set against 5.6 lost shows these sets are competitive rather than one-sided, so an early deficit does not guarantee a quick set. Cerundolo himself has won only 6 of 13 first sets, so the edge is modest on both sides of the net.
- 14 completed best-of-three hard-court matches, 4 August to 25 October 2026: Altmaier won 3 first sets and lost 11.
- He averaged 4.5 games won and 5.6 lost in first sets, with three first-set tiebreaks in that window.
