Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 25 Oct 2026, 22:17 · Europe/Bucharest

Two hard-court players separated by roughly 200 ranking places and little else meet in Sioux Falls qualifying, where Heck's five wins in six recorded matches and stronger first sets make him a narrow favourite — though his latest match on record is from 19 September.

Heck with a 2.5-game cushion at 2.5 is the one reviewed price worth taking; Under 2.5 sets at 1.45 asks too much.

Context

Heck has been the quicker starter of the two in the recorded sample.
First sets have been Heck's clearest separation in the sample, and 4.87 games won against 3.80 lost points to early breaks rather than tight holds. The edge did not carry through: he won the second set only 7 of 15 times in the same window, with 4.33 games won against 4.20 lost. A fast start is therefore not the same as a straight-set win.
- Set-one record on hard courts: 10 wins, 5 losses across 15 matches (30 June – 19 September 2026).
- First-set games: 4.87 won, 3.80 lost; average first-set total 8.67 games.
- Second-set record in the same sample: 7 wins, 8 losses, with 4.33 games won and 4.20 lost.
Baris won three games in the match and was beaten in straight sets by a player ranked well below him. It is one of four defeats in his last six recorded matches, which sits awkwardly against an 8-7 record across 15 hard-court matches from 31 July to 20 October 2026. A single afternoon is thin evidence of form, but it is the freshest data point available.
- 20 October 2026: lost 1-6, 2-6 to Cosme Rolland De Ravel (ranking 781), 3 games to 12.
- Four defeats in his last six recorded matches; two wins in that span.
- 15-match hard-court record: 8 wins, 7 losses (31 July – 20 October 2026).
That conversion rate is the most striking figure in his sample and helps explain a run of five wins in his six most recent recorded matches, which ended with a three-set loss to Ilia Simakin. The chances came in modest volume: he won 39.0% of return points across the same 15 matches. Finishing the few openings he creates is a useful trait in a match where both players hold similar overall game shares.
- Break points converted: 40 of 83 (48.2%) across 15 hard-court matches, 30 June – 19 September 2026.
- Return points won: 39.0% (369 of 946) in the same sample.
- Five wins in the six most recent matches listed, the latest a three-set loss on 19 September 2026.
His sets were generally settled before 6-6: he averaged 3.87 games won and 4.67 lost in first sets, and 4.47 won against 4.20 lost in second sets. Matches averaged 20.9 total games and 2.40 sets, so the scorelines tended to resolve rather than extend. With 15 matches behind the number, this is a lean rather than a rule.
- One tiebreak across 15 hard-court matches (31 July – 20 October 2026).
- First-set games: 3.87 won, 4.67 lost; second-set games: 4.47 won, 4.20 lost.
- Total games average 20.9 and sets average 2.40 per match in the same sample.
