Prizmic has not played a competitive match since 26 September, while Dzumhur's Olbia run — five matches in six days, ending with a Challenger final scheduled for Sunday afternoon — puts him on a plane to Brussels for this 12:00 start.

Prizmic is the likelier winner, but 1.38 is a price for a player without those questions around him. The one quote with something behind it is Dzumhur at 3, fatigue risk attached.

Context

Dzumhur's route into this match runs through five matches in six days in Sardinia, ending with a Challenger final at 15:00 local on Sunday afternoon, then travel to Brussels for a Monday first round. All of that accumulated court time sits on one side of the net, because Prizmic has not played since 26 September. The week was not a soft one either, opening with a 0-6 7-6(7) 6-0 recovery against Kuzmanov, though he dropped only two games in the semi-final. The counterpoint is that a 34-year-old ranked No. 103 chasing a second title of the year had clear reasons to play the final rather than protect this match, and neither the final's outcome nor his condition afterwards is established.
- Dzumhur beat Maks Kasnikowski 6-1 7-5 in the Olbia semi-final, reaching his second Challenger final of 2026 at age 34.
- The Olbia final against Jacob Fearnley was set for 15:00 local on Sunday 18 October.
- His Olbia week opened with a 0-6 7-6(7) 6-0 win over Dimitar Kuzmanov and included a 6-0 6-3 win over Tom Gentzsch.
- Brussels main-draw entry list of lists Dzumhur in the main draw, with the first round starting Monday 19 October.

Prizmic's issue is not unfamiliarity but the absence of match evidence: between the Saint-Tropez semi-final and this first round he has no completed match, because the one tournament he was scheduled to play, Villena, ended before it began. Whether the cited injury still matters is unresolved, and he was on the Brussels entry list on 16 October, so his appearance itself is the first read on his condition. A player arriving with three weeks of practice and no competitive rhythm is a different proposition from the one who won three straight matches in Saint-Tropez before losing to Droguet.
- Prizmic was announced as the headline entrant and top seed for the Villena Challenger in the week of .
- He withdrew before the event, with injury cited as the reason, .
- His last completed match was a 6-3 5-7 6-2 semi-final loss to Titouan Droguet at the Saint-Tropez Challenger, where he was the fourth seed.

Neither man was in the main draw when the original list was drawn: Dzumhur was preparing for qualifying, Prizmic for a Challenger in Spain, and both were moved up when three higher-ranked players dropped out. That leaves no completed match on the Palais 12 hard court for either before this first round and no chance to adjust to the indoor conditions in match play during the event. It explains why two players ranked around No. 100 meet in the opening round of a 250 rather than in qualifying or at Challenger level, without giving either side a preparation advantage.
- The entry-list update reads: main draw out Auger-Aliassime, Ruud and Bonzi; in Samuel, Dzumhur and Prizmic.
- The same update removed Dzumhur from the Brussels qualifying draw, which began on 17 October.

A win over Djokovic is the kind of result that separates a 20-year-old from the ranking queue and explains why Prizmic is treated as a player with a higher ceiling than No. 97. What it does not do is describe his level now: both results predate a three-week absence and a Challenger semi-final defeat, and neither substitutes for the match evidence that is missing from his recent record. It sets the range of what he can produce in an indoor first round rather than predicting that he will.
- A tournament preview describes Prizmic as the player who beat Djokovic and Shelton this season.
- A post listing players who have recently beaten Djokovic includes Prizmic alongside Mariano Navone and Tiago Tirante.
