Context last updated 12 Oct 2026, 03:49 · Europe/Bucharest

Andreescu, the 2019 US Open champion now at No. 172, meets No.

183 Mia Ristic in the Rovereto first round, with Ristic holding the better recent record but almost all of it on clay. Andreescu is the more likely winner, yet 1.08 on her offers nothing. Of the prices reviewed, Ristic to win at 8.0 and the match to go beyond two sets at 3.5 are the two with a case.

Context

Andreescu had not played since 13 September before Samsun, then won two straight-set matches and lost to the second seed, and travelled from Türkiye to Italy for another 125 event the following week. That gives her recent match rhythm but also a short turnaround, and it is the only current evidence of her form: she handled lower-ranked opposition and lost to the one top-100 player she met. The run does not establish that she has returned to the level that produced her 2019 US Open title.
- Andreescu had not played since 13 September before opening her Samsun campaign with a 6-0 6-0 win over Alana Smith in 56 minutes.
- She beat Mariam Bolkvadze 6-4 6-3 in the second round.
- Second seed Anna Blinkova ended her run 6-3 6-4 in the Samsun quarterfinals .

Ristic's autumn results are built on clay, including the win over former top-50 player Arantxa Rus at the Tolentino WTA 125, and her recent 9-3 clay record is the strongest part of her profile. She now switches to indoor hard, where she has played only three of her last 15 matches, so the surface change is the main uncertainty around her form. The loss to world No. 323 Jessica Pieri in her most recent match also shows the run was not uninterrupted.
- Ristic beat Arantxa Rus 4-6 6-0 6-3 at the WTA 125 in Tolentino .
- She also beat Noemi Basiletti 6-3 3-6 6-3 before losing to Jessica Pieri 6-4 6-4.
- Ristic's last 15 matches include 12 on clay (9-3) and three on hard courts (2-1).

Andreescu, the former US Open champion, arrives from a run to the Samsun quarterfinals the previous week.
Nine tracked matches is a small sample, but the pattern is consistent: eight straight-set finishes, an average of 18.2 games and no tiebreak in any of them. Her two wins in Samsun a week earlier also came in straight sets. The record describes how her recent hard-court matches have gone rather than guaranteeing another short one.
- Andreescu's nine tracked hard-court matches from 3 August to 9 October 2026 produced eight straight-set results and one match that went to a third set.
- Those nine matches averaged 18.2 total games.
- None of the nine hard-court matches in the sample contained a tiebreak.
Rovereto is an indoor hard-court event, a faster, lower-bouncing surface than the clay on which Ristic has built her recent run and the surface Andreescu has played on for most of her career. The 125 ranking points and $17,000 first prize define the week's value for two players ranked No. 172 and No. 183, for whom a deep run is a direct route back up the list. The draw puts them together immediately, so both start against an opponent ranked within 11 places.
- The Rovereto WTA 125 runs 12-18 October 2026 on indoor hard courts at the PalaBaldresca in Rovereto, Italy, with a 32-player singles draw.
- The singles champion earns 125 WTA ranking points and $17,000 from a $115,000 prize pool.
- The first round places Bianca Andreescu against Mia Ristic on 13 October 2026.
