Pre-match view

Context last updated 11 Oct 2026, 05:32 · Europe/Bucharest

Pavlovic is 490 ranking places above Fancutt, and that gap shapes a hard-court qualifying opener at Jinan, but 1.25 on Pavlovic to win the match and 1.30 for the first set are shorter than his recent form justifies.

The quoted price with something to offer is Fancutt at 3.20 to win the second set, the set in which Pavlovic has been most often stretched.

Context

Pavlovic has landed 57.8% of first serves and converted 78.7% of those points across his last 15 tracked matches, striking 159 aces (10.6 per match) against 58 double faults. A serve that produces that many free points is a real advantage in a best-of-three against an opponent ranked 490 places below him. Sample depth is the caveat: winners, unforced errors and net points come from only two of those matches, and Fancutt has no comparable serve data.
- Pavlovic's last 15 tracked matches: 624 of 1079 first serves in (57.8%), 491 of 624 first-serve points won (78.7%), 159 aces (10.6 per match) and 58 double faults (3.9 per match).
Pavlovic's last 14 completed hard-court matches show a clear split: first sets average 9.5 games with one tiebreak, second sets 10.5 games with six tiebreaks. The matches average 2.5 sets and 24.7 games, so his typical completed match is not a rapid two-setter, and the second set is where it stretches. Fancutt's second-set record is the weaker half of his game at 6-8, which is why that set is the likelier place for resistance.
- Pavlovic's 14 completed hard-court matches, 21 July to 5 October 2026: first sets averaged 9.5 games with 1 tiebreak, second sets 10.5 games with 6 tiebreaks; matches averaged 24.7 games and 2.5 sets.
Across 14 completed hard-court matches from 12 July to 28 September 2026, Fancutt's results split almost evenly by scoreline: five 2-0 wins and five 0-2 losses, with only four matches reaching a deciding set. His first-set record (8-6) tops his second-set record (6-8), and only four matches featured a tiebreak. That shape makes a fast start important for him, since two-set defeats have been as common as two-set wins.
- Fancutt's 14 completed hard-court matches, 12 July to 28 September 2026: scorelines of 2-0 (5), 0-2 (5), 2-1 (2) and 1-2 (2); set one 8-6, set two 6-8; 4 matches with a tiebreak; averages of 21.9 games and 2.29 sets.
Heck was ranked No. 605 when they met on 16 September 2026, nearly 400 places below Pavlovic, and Pavlovic lost the third set on a tiebreak after taking the opener. Fancutt is ranked lower still at No. 697, so this is the closest thing in the sample to the opponent he now faces. It is one result rather than a trend, but it shows the ranking gap does not make the qualifying opener automatic.
- 16 September 2026, hard court: Pavlovic lost 6-3 1-6 6-7 to Hunter Heck, then ranked ATP No. 605.
