Context last updated 11 Oct 2026, 08:30 · Europe/Bucharest

A clay-court qualifying opener between two players on 6-8 recent records, with Feistel ranked 331 and Nepliy 473.

Feistel is the likelier winner and the stronger first-set player on clay, but all six of her most recently listed clay matches were defeats. Three prices offer something: Nepliy +4.5 games at 2.9, over 20.5 total games at 2.5 and over 2.5 sets at 3.3; under 20.5 games at 1.45 and under 2.5 sets at 1.25 are not worth taking.

Context

Feistel's clay results usually end quickly: 11 of the 14 matches in this window finished in straight sets and only three went to a decider, at 2.21 sets per match. Her 20.9-game average says the total games are not unusually low, though. The same sample includes six 0-2 defeats, so the straight-set pattern has often gone against her rather than for her.
- Feistel has 14 completed clay matches logged between June 27 and Oct 7, 2026, averaging 2.21 sets and 20.9 games
- Her clay scorelines in that window: five 2-0 wins, six 0-2 defeats, two 1-2 losses and one 2-1 win
- Only three of those 14 matches reached a deciding set
This is a qualifying opener, so both players must win to reach a main draw that starts the following day. The second-match slot on Campo Lisboa, after Klugman against Martinez Vaquero, means the match is not a featured court assignment and the start time could drift. The recorded start of 11:30 UTC precedes the listed 12:00 kickoff, so the first serve may come earlier or later than the nominal time. These are scheduling details with no bearing on the sporting assessment.
- Feistel and Nepliy are listed on Campo Lisboa with a recorded start time of 11:30 UTC on Oct 11, 2026.
- The match is second on Campo Lisboa, following Klugman against Martinez Vaquero from 10:00 and preceding Serban against Van Emst.

The main draw does not begin until Oct 12, the day after this qualifying round, so the winner earns entry into the week-long clay event. Every round is played on clay, which keeps conditions consistent from qualifying through the final. For Feistel, whose recorded 2026 wins are mostly on clay, the surface is familiar; for Nepliy, who is listed with indoor hard as her preference, the week is a surface change. The draw size and the points available beyond the main-draw cut are not established here.
- Main-event dates for the Lisboa Belem Open are 2026-10-12 to 2026-10-18.
- The tournament is a WTA 125 clay-court event, with the final scheduled for Sunday, Oct 18.

Ljubljana was a direct test at WTA 125 level, one tier above the ITF events where most of Feistel's 2026 wins have come, and she won five games against a seeded opponent. That frames the step up she faces in Lisbon qualifying, where a win is needed just to enter the main draw. It is one result and does not by itself establish form. Feistel did reach a career-high ranking in July 2026, so the loss is a single data point rather than evidence of decline.
- Feistel lost her opening match at the WTA 125 event in Ljubljana to eighth seed Barbora Palicova 5-7 1-6 in September 2026.
