A close second-round tie in Samsun: Galfi is ten places higher in the rankings, but Iatcenko has won 9 of her last 15 hard-court matches to Galfi's 2-3 in five.

Iatcenko is the pick to win, and three quoted prices carry a positive case — 2.1 for her to win the match, 2.0 for the first set and 2.0 for the second set. Galfi's 1.73 asks more than her recent record supports.

Context

Iatcenko's last completed event was a WTA 125 in Turkiye, where she won three matches to reach the semifinals before losing to Teodora Kostovic 7-5 7-5 . That run shows she can string wins together at exactly this level and on the same hard courts. The counterweight is what followed: she lost her opening match at the next event 6-3 6-2 to Erika Andreeva, so the semifinal week did not grow into sustained form.
- Iatcenko reached the semifinals of a WTA 125 in Turkiye in late September 2026, losing to Teodora Kostovic 7-5 7-5.
- That semifinal was played .

Iatcenko is No. 160 and has played 15 hard-court matches since late July 2026.
Iatcenko's recent hard-court matches have mostly been settled in straight sets, so a quick finish is the likelier shape of this second round. The same pattern cuts against her: five of those 15 matches were straight-set defeats, so a short match does not by itself favour her. The sample is 15 matches rather than a full season.
- Across 15 hard-court best-of-three matches from 25 July to 5 October 2026, Iatcenko's scorelines read 2-0 six times, 0-2 five times, 2-1 three times and 1-2 once.
- Only four of those 15 matches went to a deciding set; she averaged 2.27 sets and 20.9 total games per match.
- Two of the 15 matches contained a tiebreak.
Samsun is staging a WTA 125 for only the second time, over 4 to 11 October 2026, with roughly 70 players from 31 countries on the hard courts of a golf-club complex. That makes it a mixed, second-tier international field rather than a home event for either player, so crowd support and conditions are neutral for both. The practical effect for this match is a compact one-week draw in which early rounds are played close together, and both women arrived directly from other Turkish hard-court events the previous week.
- The Samsun Open WTA 125 tournament is being held for the second time in Samsun, from 4 to 11 October 2026.
- Around 70 players from 31 countries entered the event, staged at the Samsun Buyuksehir Belediyesi Golf Tesisleri.
- The event is run with the backing of the city municipality and the national tennis federation at a golf and tennis club.

This is the second round of a WTA 125 in Samsun and the pair's first meeting at this event. Galfi is No. 150 and Iatcenko No. 160, a narrow enough gap that the tie looks close to even on ranking alone. Reaching the last 16 at this level is a realistic but modest reward, so the match matters mainly for which player can carry her current form deeper into the week.
- Iatcenko faces Galfi in the second round of the WTA 125 tournament in Samsun, scheduled for 7 October 2026.
