Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 4 Oct 2026, 16:16 · Europe/Bucharest

Vukic sits 346 ranking places above Cui and has taken the first set in 10 of his last 13 hard-court matches, so a Vukic win is the likelier outcome — but 1.29 does not pay enough for it, and neither does 1.8 for a straight-sets win.

The one quoted price worth a look is 2.4 for the match to reach a deciding set.

Context

Vukic's first-set record is the strongest single strand of his recent hard-court form.
Five of those 13 opening sets needed a tiebreak and they averaged 10.5 games, so the early advantage has often been hard-won rather than routine. For this qualifying match it suggests Cui is likely to be chasing the scoreline from early on, though Cui has split his own first sets 7-7 over his last 14 matches and is not simply a bystander at the start.
- 19 July to 28 September 2026: Vukic won the first set in 10 of 13 completed hard-court matches and lost it in 3.
- Those 13 first sets included 5 tiebreaks and averaged 10.5 games.
Vukic's match length has been short more often than not in this window.
That straight-set share is why a quick Vukic win is the likeliest single scoreline and the main argument against the match running long. The counterweight sits in the same sample: he also went to a deciding set in 5 of those 13 matches, and six of the 13 featured at least one tiebreak.
- 19 July to 28 September 2026: 13 completed hard-court matches, scorelines 2-0 seven times, 1-2 four times, 0-2 once and 2-1 once.
- Set totals averaged 2.38 per match across those 13 matches, with 6 featuring at least one tiebreak.
Cui has one recent result that sits well above his No. 458 ranking.
Altmaier is the highest-ranked opponent in the six most recent matches listed for Cui, and the straight-sets scoreline shows he can handle a top-70 player on this surface. It is still a single result, and his wider hard-court record in this window is 5-9 across 14 completed matches, which is why the gap in the market on a one-sided Vukic win is not as clean as the rankings suggest.
- 28 September 2026: Jie Cui beat Daniel Altmaier (No. 67) 6-4 6-1 on hard court in a completed straight-sets match.
