Pridankina and Aksu, 20 ranking places apart, meet in the first round at Adana.

Pridankina won their only meeting and is the likelier winner, but Aksu is 7-7 on hard over 14 matches and Pridankina has been going to deciding sets. Five quoted prices offer value: Aksu at 3.0, Aksu +2.5 games at 2.3, over 22.5 games at 2.3, Aksu in the second set at 2.6 and three sets at 2.4.

Context

Pridankina won the pair's only completed meeting 6-4 7-5 at Antalya in March 2025, a scoreline decided by a single break in each set. It is the one direct reference point for this matchup, and it came 18 months ago at a lower-tier event, so it establishes familiarity rather than current separation. Both players now sit in the same ranking band, Pridankina at No. 196 and Aksu at No. 216, which is consistent with two players at a similar level.
- Pridankina leads the head-to-head 1-0
- The completed meeting was won 6-4 7-5 at Antalya in March 2025
- No other completed meeting between the two is recorded

This is a 125-level event played outdoors on hard courts immediately after the Ankara WTA 125, so the Turkish swing gives both players consecutive weeks in the same country and on the same surface. The level of the draw sits close to the two players' own ranking range rather than offering seeded protection, so first-round survival turns on immediate form. Pridankina arrives from Ankara, where her run ended in the second round, and Aksu from the same event, so neither is stepping onto these courts cold.
- Round 1 singles at the WTA 125 Adana Open
- Hard-court event running to 4 October
- Staged at the Tenis Dağ ve Su Sporları Kulübü in Adana

Aksu is one of only three Turkish players in the Adana singles draw, with no Turkish entrants having come through qualifying, and the tournament is backed by the Adana metropolitan municipality and was presented in the city before play began. She is also entered in doubles with Ayşegül Mert on the opening day, so she takes the court at this venue before this singles tie while Pridankina does not. That makes her schedule the heavier of the two in the first two days of the event.
- Aksu is in the Adana singles main draw
- Turkish main-draw entrants also include Berfu Cengiz and Çağla Büyükakçay
- Aksu is paired with Ayşegül Mert in the doubles draw on the tournament's opening day
ReportedSources checked 28 Sep 2026, 16:10 · Europe/Bucharest
Pridankina's most recent Grand Slam appearance was a final-round qualifying loss in which she took a set off Qinwen Zheng before going down in three, with Zheng then reaching the quarterfinals. That gives her a hard-court reference against a top-60 opponent and shows she can hold a set at that level. The limitation is that it remained a qualifying exit, and her following event in Ankara ended with a second-round loss to Ksenia Zaytseva, so the US Open set is a high point rather than part of a sustained run.
- Final-round US Open qualifying loss to Qinwen Zheng
- The match went three sets, with Pridankina taking one
- Zheng went on to reach the US Open quarterfinals
