Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 23 Sep 2026, 16:15 · Europe/Bucharest

Forti is the higher-ranked and fresher man; Mano has won 10 of his last 14 completed clay matches and arrives off his first Challenger main-draw win.

Forti's 1.3 price asks for 76.9% and is worth avoiding. Mano at 3.5 is the one price among the reviewed selections that stands out, with three matches in four days the obvious risk.

Context

Passaro started as the far higher-ranked player at No. 223 and led the match by a set before losing it, so Mano's win is a level jump rather than a narrow result against a comparable opponent. That matters here because Mano's No. 625 ranking is the weakest piece of information available about his current level, while the Passaro result is the strongest. The counterpoint is that he needed a tiebreak and a third set to close it, so the win came with a long clay match attached.
- Mano beat Francesco Passaro 0-6 7-6(4) 6-1 in the Genoa 2 first round .
- It is Mano's first main-draw victory at Challenger level.
- Passaro was ranked No. 223, with Mano at No. 625.

Forti has played one match at Genoa 2 before this round; Mano has played three in four days, two of them three-setters. Qualifying runs at this level cut into recovery and preparation, and this is the clearest workload difference between the two players. The counterweight is that the extra matches also gave Mano repeated time on the same clay and a competitive rhythm Forti has not had this week, so the effect is not one-directional.
- Mano beat Simone Agostini 6-0 6-0 on 20 September and Ryan Nijboer 4-6 6-3 6-4 in qualifying.
- Mano then beat Passaro over three sets in the main draw.
- Forti's only completed match at Genoa 2 before this round was a 6-3 6-4 win over Nijboer .
ConfirmedSources checked 23 Sep 2026, 16:13 · Europe/Bucharest
Mano's win over Nijboer is what moved him from qualifying into the main draw, and Nijboer then reappeared in the first round opposite Forti, so one opponent linked both players' routes inside 24 hours. Nijboer needing treatment in each match is the context behind two results that otherwise read as routine straight-sets or comeback lines in the record. The limitation is that Nijboer is ranked No. 415, below both men, so this says more about how the draw took shape than about how Forti and Mano will handle each other.
- Nijboer lost to Mano 4-6 6-3 6-4 and to Forti 6-3 6-4 .
- Nijboer received treatment on his foot during the qualifying match and on his right shoulder during the main-draw match.
ConfirmedSources checked 23 Sep 2026, 16:13 · Europe/Bucharest
Forti's clay results have been settled quickly rather than ground out over three sets.
Forti's clay profile is a straight-sets profile: six 2-0 wins and five 0-2 losses against just two matches that went the full three sets. That means his matches are usually decided by who breaks first rather than by who lasts, so a single poor set tends to end the contest rather than extend it. It also means his 7-6 clay record contains few long battles to draw on if this one turns into a third set.
- Forti's 13 tracked completed clay matches from 27 July to 22 September 2026 break down as six 2-0 wins, five 0-2 losses, one 2-1 win and one 1-2 loss.
- His clay matches average 2.15 sets.
- Two retirements were excluded from that 13-match sample.
