Context last updated 22 Sep 2026, 22:01 · Europe/Bucharest

Rajecki's carpet form against a home qualifier who has already played on each of the past two days is the tension here.

Rajecki, ranked No. 392, is the likely winner, but she lost her last singles in Kyoto to the world No. 739 and has not played singles since Sept 17. At 1.44, Rajecki to win is the only quoted price the evidence supports; the 2.65 on Hayasaka does not.

Context

Hayasaka played on both Sept 21 and Sept 22, winning 6-0 6-1 and then a 4-6 6-0 7-5 three-setter, and this fixture follows on Sept 23. Rajecki has not played singles since Sept 17, when she lost to Sayaka Ishii at Kyoto, and her only match after that was the Sept 19 doubles final. The asymmetry is the relevant detail: one player arrives with two match days behind her and the other with three clear days, while Hayasaka had also played Kyoto qualifying on Sept 14-15. The limitation runs against the usual read of a qualifier as the fresher player, because two consecutive match days are a physical cost that can surface late in a match rather than an advantage.
- Tournament schedule places qualifying on Sept 21-22 and main-draw play from Sept 22, with this fixture dated Sept 23
- Hayasaka's match samples show wins on Sept 21 and Sept 22, the second a three-set 4-6 6-0 7-5 result
- Rajecki lost in the W35 Kyoto second round on Sept 17 in three sets
- Rajecki's Kyoto doubles final was played on Sept 19, four days before this fixture

Rajecki entered the W35 Kyoto singles draw as the fifth seed, beat Nagi Hanatani 6-4 6-2 in the first round on Sept 16, then lost 6-7(5) 7-6(3) 6-3 to Sayaka Ishii, ranked No. 739, on Sept 17. That is her most recent singles evidence before this fixture, and it is the relevant test because she now faces an opponent with no WTA ranking who has just won two qualifying matches here. It also sits alongside a July and August record that includes wins over higher-ranked players such as Viktoria Hruncakova and Ella Mcdonald at this level, so one three-set loss is not on its own a trend. What the Kyoto week establishes is that a lower-ranked Japanese opponent could take her the distance on hard courts.
- Kyoto first-round report lists Rajecki as fifth seed, ranked No. 391, and a 6-4 6-2 winner over Nagi Hanatani
- Kyoto second-round report confirms the three-set loss to Sayaka Ishii, ranked No. 739
- Match sample dates the first-round win to Sept 16 and the second-round loss to Sept 17
- Her wider 2026 record includes wins over top-250 and top-500 opponents such as Viktoria Hruncakova and Ella Mcdonald

Rajecki's carpet record is heavier in the second set than the first, with a 4-1 split in second sets against a 3-2 split in openers.
If this first round goes past the opening set, Rajecki's carpet sample suggests she is at her most secure in the second, where she has won four of five and twice needed a tiebreak to do it. Hayasaka split her two Nanao opening sets 1-1, so the early part of the match is where the qualifier has been least reliable. Five matches is a small sample, and the two tiebreaks show these second sets can be tight rather than routine.
- Five completed, non-retired carpet matches tracked from July 29 to Aug 2, 2026
- Second sets averaged 11.2 total games (6.4 won, 4.8 lost) with two tiebreaks
- Opening sets averaged 9.2 total games with a 3-2 win-loss split
- Scorelines in the sample: 2-0 three times, 2-1 once, 0-2 once
This is a W50 event at the Wakura Onsen Sports Park courts in Nanao, staged the week after the W35 stop in Kyoto within the same Japanese swing, with qualifying on Sept 21-22 and main-draw play from Sept 22. The grade matters directly here: Rajecki reached the second round of singles at Kyoto, while Hayasaka came through this week's qualifying rounds to reach the main draw. Entry is free and the event is promoted around the local area, so the setting is a small regional tournament with attention concentrated on the Japanese players in the draw. It is a first-round meeting at a level where the structured ranking of an unranked qualifier says little about the opponents she has already beaten this week.
- Tournament listing gives the dates Sept 21-27, 2026, qualifying on Sept 21-22 and main draw from Sept 22
- Venue listed as Wakura Onsen Sports Park tennis courts, Nanao, Ishikawa Prefecture
- Tournament branded as W50 Nanao, one grade above the W35 Kyoto event played the previous week in the same Japanese swing
- Local promotion advertises free admission for spectators during the tournament week
