Context last updated 23 Sep 2026, 08:45 · Europe/Bucharest

Knutson has the better hard-court record and won their only previous meeting in straight sets, but she is on a sixth match in eight days while Akli has played once since 16 September.

Knutson is the likely winner, probably in two sets, but 1.45 on her to win and 1.45 on a two-set match ask more than that case supports. The 2.05 for a 2-0 win is about the right price on this evidence, and nothing else quoted here is worth taking.

Context

Knutson has played six singles matches since 15 September, five of them in a six-day run to the Caldas da Rainha final, and she opened in Porto a day before this tie, which makes it her third match in four days at a second consecutive Portuguese hard-court event. Akli's side of the schedule is much lighter: her only completed match since 16 September was the straight-sets win over Koevermans . The counterweight is form, because Knutson has won four of her last five singles matches, and the single defeat came against Pigato, who took her second WTA 125 title of 2026 in that final.
- Knutson lost the Caldas da Rainha final 6-4 6-2 to Lisa Pigato
- Knutson beat Mia Pohankova 7-5 5-7 6-3 in the Caldas da Rainha semi-final
- Knutson beat Katherine Sebov 6-4 6-2 in the Porto first round on 22 September 2026
- Akli beat Anouk Koevermans 6-4 6-1 in the Porto first round

The February meeting is the only direct evidence between the two, and it took place at the same level of event and in the same country as this fixture, which gives it more weight than a bare head-to-head tally. Its value is limited by age, because seven months separate the two matches and Knutson has since added a Grand Slam main draw and a 125-level final. The straight-sets result stands as a reference point for how the matchup has gone at this level rather than as a projection of this meeting.
- Knutson beat Akli in the first round at WTA 125 Oeiras on 16 February 2026
- The Oeiras match is the only previous meeting between the two on record
- Both the Oeiras meeting and this match are WTA 125 hard-court events in Portugal
ConfirmedSources checked 23 Sep 2026, 08:43 · Europe/BucharestTennis.com match pagewww.tennis.com · 22 Sep 2026Flashscorewww.flashscore.co.ke · 22 Sep 2026
Her first set has been the stronger end of these matches: she won it 12 times out of 15, with an average set-one game split of 5.73 to 3.93.
Two sets has been the normal outcome of her recent matches, and only two of the 15 contained a tiebreak. The same sample shows the pattern is not absolute: she won set two in 10 of the 15 matches rather than 12, and three matches finished 0-2 the other way.
- 15 hard-court matches tracked for Knutson, 4 August to 22 September 2026
- Scorelines: ten 2-0 wins, three 0-2 losses, two 2-1 wins
- Set one won 12 times in 15; average set-one games 5.73 won, 3.93 lost
- Only two of the 15 matches featured a tiebreak
The breakthrough came three weeks before this tie and is the clearest marker of where Knutson's level sits in 2026, with qualifying wins at a Grand Slam event sitting alongside her 125-level results. It matters here as a guide to trajectory rather than to the matchup, since her first-round exit to Eva Lys was a two-set loss in the first week of September. The result also gives her a first Grand Slam main-draw appearance on hard courts, the surface for this match, although it represents a single event rather than a season-long pattern.
- Knutson entered Grand Slam qualifying ten times before breaking through in 2026
- Knutson was a two-time All-American at Syracuse
- Knutson lost her US Open first-round match to Eva Lys 6-3 6-3 on 1 September 2026
- Knutson was listed in US Open qualifying against Ekaterine Gorgodze in late August 2026
