Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 20 Sep 2026, 15:45 · Europe/Bucharest

Baris vs Mitsui is a coin-flip hard-court qualifier with identical 11-4 last-15 records; Baris has the serve and break-point edge, Mitsui the return edge.

Avoid Baris at 1.55 (implied 64.5% vs 58% model), and target Mitsui +3.5 games plus overs on total games and sets given both players' long, tight recent matches.

Context

Baris, 420, and Mitsui, 531, are both hard-court specialists who have played almost exclusively on the surface in 2026. Baris is 26-8 on hard courts this year; Mitsui is 15-7.
Their last-15 records are identical at 11-4, and both have played all 15 matches on hard courts. Baris wins 54.6% of games to Mitsui's 55.7%, a gap small enough to be noise. The match is likely to be decided by small margins rather than one player's form being clearly better.
- Baris last 15: 11-4, 65.7% sets won, 54.6% games won, all on hard courts.
- Mitsui last 15: 11-4, 66.7% sets won, 55.7% games won, all on hard courts.
- Baris 2026 hard-court record: 26-8; Mitsui 2026 hard-court record: 15-7.
Baris, 420, has a career 63% first-serve rate and wins 68% of first-serve points. Mitsui, 531, has a career 44% return-points-won rate and converts 46% of break points.
Mitsui's return game is the stronger side of this matchup, but Baris's break-point save rate of 63.2% over 15 matches is a meaningful counterweight. If Baris serves well on big points, Mitsui's return advantage may not translate into enough breaks. If Baris's first-serve percentage dips, Mitsui's return numbers suggest he can take advantage.
- Mitsui last 15: 44% return points won, 46% break points converted.
- Baris last 15: 41.5% return points won, 63.2% break points saved.
- Baris last 15: 73.1% first-serve points won; Mitsui last 15: 67.6% first-serve points won.
Baris, 420, played a Challenger event on September 13-14, winning one match and losing one in three sets. Mitsui, 531, last competed on September 4, losing in straight sets.
Baris has recent match sharpness but also recent match load, including a three-set loss. Mitsui has had over two weeks without competition, which could mean fresher legs or some rust. The effect is uncertain, but it is a real difference in preparation.
- Baris played September 13 (win) and September 14 (loss) on hard courts.
- Mitsui last played September 4, a straight-sets loss on hard courts.
- Baris's September 14 match lasted three sets; his September 13 match also went three sets.
