Context

Lazarov, 891 in the world, is a 191cm left-hander with a one-handed backhand who plays almost entirely on clay; 90 of his 98 career wins have come there. He has 172 career matches and averages 96.6 minutes per match across his last 15 tracked clay matches.
The load is concrete: on 18 September he beat Dusan Obradovic 5-7 7-6(3) 10-7 in a 42-game three-setter, he played again on 19 September, and he is due on court at 09:00 on 20 September for this qualifying round. It does not settle the match by itself, but it raises the value of a quick start and short points. Oetzbach has not competed since 13 September, so the fresher legs sit on the other side if the contest runs long.
- Lazarov beat Dusan Obradovic (No. 448) 5-7 7-6(3) 10-7 on 18 September, a three-set match lasting 42 games.
- He also played on 17 and 19 September at the same clay event (tournament 22058), losing the 19 September match to Alexandre Aubriot (No. 887) in straight sets.
- He is scheduled at 09:00 on 20 September, the morning after that loss, at the Plovdiv Challenger.
Oetzbach, 542, is a German right-hander with a two-handed backhand and a 185cm frame. He has played 562 career matches and won 311, with 216 of those wins on clay, so the surface is familiar for a player who has spent most of his career at this level.
The records are level, and the serve and return numbers split the other way. Oetzbach has won 66.3% of first-serve points and 52.5% of second-serve points with 2.7 aces per match; Lazarov leads on return points won (46.1% to 40.1%) and on break points converted (50.4% to 41.8%). Neither set of numbers is dominant, so the result may turn on who converts the few chances the other's serve allows.
- Lazarov: 9-6 in 15 tracked clay matches (60%), 46.1% return points won, 50.4% break points converted (59/117).
- Oetzbach: 9-6 in 15 tracked clay matches (60%), 66.3% first-serve points won, 52.5% second-serve points won, 2.7 aces per match.
- Break points saved also favour Oetzbach at 61.6% (61/99) against Lazarov's 58.9% (63/107).

Oetzbach's proven ability to close matches in straight sets and Lazarov's weak deciding-set record support a set-two edge, with reduced confidence given the close overall profile.
