Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 19 Sep 2026, 20:02 · Europe/Bucharest

De Minaur is the rightful favourite (ranked 9 vs 73, 2-0 on hard in H2H) but the short prices on him are overpriced, making totals the better angle.

Back Over 21.5 games at 1.80 as the primary value play, with Over 12.5 aces and a tiebreak in the match as secondary leans; avoid Majchrzak outright and set-one underdog prices.

Context

De Minaur, 27, is ranked No. 9 and has been a consistent top-10 player, but his recent hard-court results show some vulnerability.
His 6-4 hard-court record in the last 15 matches, including losses to Fils and Nakashima, suggests he is not at his dominant best. Majchrzak will look to extend rallies and test De Minaur's consistency, especially if De Minaur's first-serve percentage stays around 54% as it has on hard courts.
- De Minaur is 6-4 on hard courts in his last 15 matches, with a 51.2% games-won rate.
- His hard-court first-serve percentage in that window is 54.4%, and he has saved 64.8% of break points.
- Recent hard-court losses include straight-set defeats to Arthur Fils (No. 11) and Brandon Nakashima (No. 16).
De Minaur and Majchrzak both played live singles rubbers on 19 September in Brisbane, leaving Australia and Poland level at 1-1. Their meeting is the fourth rubber on Sunday, scheduled after the doubles.
Because the tie is still open, this singles rubber carries team weight rather than being a dead match. Both players also arrive with one completed singles match already in their legs, and the doubles result before them can change what is required from each side.
- Both players completed live singles rubbers on 19 September, leaving the tie level at 1-1.
- Their scheduled singles meeting is the fourth rubber and remains live after the doubles.

Majchrzak, 31, is ranked No. 73 and has spent much of his career on clay, but he showed strong grass form in June with wins over Medvedev and Auger-Aliassime.
On hard courts in the last 15 matches, Majchrzak is 2-5 with a 47.8% games-won rate. His return points won drop to 36.3% on hard, compared to 36.8% on grass, and his break-point conversion is just 32%. Those numbers suggest he will struggle to break De Minaur consistently.
- Majchrzak is 2-5 on hard courts in his last 15 matches, with a 47.8% games-won rate.
- His hard-court return points won is 36.3%, and break-point conversion is 32%.
- He has lost recent hard-court matches to players ranked outside the top 100, including Benjamin Bonzi (No. 92) and Christopher O'Connell (No. 111).
The head-to-head is 2-1 to De Minaur overall, but Majchrzak's win came on grass, while De Minaur has won both hard-court meetings.
Majchrzak's June win was a tight three-setter, and he saved break points well in that match. However, De Minaur's hard-court wins were more straightforward, including a 6-1 7-5 victory in October 2025. The surface shift favors De Minaur, but Majchrzak's recent success could give him belief in long rallies.
- Majchrzak won their last meeting 6-3 2-6 7-6(5) on grass in June 2026.
- De Minaur leads the overall head-to-head 2-1, with both wins coming on hard courts.
- In their three meetings, De Minaur has won 44% of return points compared to Majchrzak's 30%.
