Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 6 Sep 2026, 15:53 · Europe/Bucharest

Maestrelli is the higher-ranked player with a stronger serve, but both are in terrible form (2-13 in last 15).

The match winner odds on Maestrelli (1.40) offer no value, so focus on totals: over 21.5 games and over 9.5 aces are the best bets.

Context

Maestrelli, 168th, and Ficovich, 379th, are both right-handed baseliners who have spent most of 2026 losing early in Challenger and qualifying draws.
Neither player has built any momentum, so the match may hinge on who can execute more cleanly under pressure. Maestrelli's recent losses have come against opponents ranked between 87 and 345, while Ficovich has lost to players ranked as low as 472, suggesting Maestrelli has faced slightly tougher competition.
- Maestrelli's last 15 record is 2-13, with losses to Toby Samuel, Alexei Popyrin, and Bu Yunchaokete.
- Ficovich's last 15 record is 2-13, with losses to Pol Martin Tiffon, Miguel Tobon, and Juan Carlos Prado Angelo.
- Both players have only one win in their last five matches.
Maestrelli's 196cm frame gives him a powerful first serve, but his second serve has been vulnerable this season.
On hard courts, Maestrelli wins 72% of first-serve points but only 45% on second serve, and his double-fault rate is nearly three times Ficovich's. Ficovich's lower-risk serving may give him more consistent holds, but Maestrelli's ace count could produce more free points if he lands his first serve.
- Maestrelli last 15 overall: 7.1 aces per match, 4.7 double faults per match.
- Ficovich last 15 overall: 3.1 aces per match, 1.9 double faults per match.
- Maestrelli hard-court first-serve points won: 72%; second-serve points won: 45.2%.
