Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 6 Sep 2026, 16:18 · Europe/Bucharest

Matsuoka leads H2H 2-0 and is ranked higher, but Delaney's recent form and serve are stronger.

Best bets: Delaney +3.5 games and over 10.5 total aces. Avoid Delaney outright at 3.80 despite value, as Matsuoka's matchup edge is significant.

Context

Matsuoka, ranked 255, has faced Delaney twice on hard courts and won both matches without dropping a set.
In those meetings, Matsuoka converted 71% of break points while Delaney managed only 25%, and Matsuoka won 55% of second-serve points to Delaney's 38%. That pattern suggests Matsuoka can again pressure Delaney's serve and take control of key points.
- H2H: Matsuoka leads 2-0, both on hard courts, with identical 6-4 6-4 scorelines.
- H2H stats: Matsuoka won 71% of break points vs Delaney's 25%, and 55% of second-serve points vs 38%.
Delaney, ranked 365, relies on a strong first serve and has produced 129 aces in his last 15 matches.
His first-serve points won is 77.3% and he saves 72.5% of break points, so he can hold serve effectively. However, his return points won is just 38.3%, which may make it harder for him to break Matsuoka's serve consistently.
- Last 15 stats: Delaney averages 8.6 aces per match vs Matsuoka's 2.9.
- Last 15 stats: Delaney wins 77.3% of first-serve points and saves 72.5% of break points.
- Last 15 stats: Delaney wins 38.3% of return points vs Matsuoka's 40.4%.
Matsuoka has been consistent on hard courts, winning 10 of 15 recent matches and beating several players ranked above him.
His recent wins include a straight-set victory over world No. 117 Mochizuki, showing he can compete above his ranking. Delaney, by contrast, lost his last two matches to players ranked 483 and 567, which raises questions about his current level.
- Recent form: Matsuoka is 10-5 in his last 15 matches; Delaney is 11-4 but has lost his last two.
- Matsuoka beat No. 117 Mochizuki 6-3 6-2 in July; Delaney lost to No. 483 Matsuda and No. 567 Chung in his last two matches.
