Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 27 Jul 2026, 08:59 · Europe/Bucharest

Sramkova’s strong qualifying form and same-court acclimatisation give her a clear edge over Tjen, whose recent overall results are poor and hard-court data unreliable.

Back Sramkova to win at generous odds, and expect a competitive match with over 20.5 total games.

Context

Sramkova's last 2 hard-court matches (both this week in Washington): 2-0 record, 68.6% games won, 75.7% first-serve points won, 100% break points saved.
- She beat opponents ranked 255 and 217 in straight sets, dropping only 11 games total.
- Tjen enters without any Washington match load, having last played on hard courts in April against low-ranked opponents.
Tjen's last 15 overall: 6-9 record, 47% games won, 48.2% total points won, 64.4% first-serve points won.
- She lost 5 of her last 7 matches on grass, often in straight sets, and her last hard-court wins came against opponents ranked 373 and 400.
- Her career hard-court record is 117-16, but current form does not reflect that dominance.
Sramkova beat Carolyn Ansari 6-4, 6-2 on July 25 and Gabriela Knutson 6-3, 6-2 on July 26.
- This will be her third match in three days, while Tjen is fresh.
- No current injury or retirement concerns are reported, but workload is a concrete risk.

Sramkova's strong recent hard-court stats and match rhythm on this surface give her a slight edge over Tjen, whose hard-court form is unproven at this level.

- Tjen's last 15 overall: 40% win rate, 47% games won, 48.2% total points won, 64.4% first-serve points won, 52.1% break points saved.

The read
Sramkova's dominant first-set performances in her recent hard-court matches and Tjen's overall struggles to win sets make Sramkova the likely first-set winner.
- Sramkova won the first set in both Washington qualifying matches (6-4, 6-3).
- Tjen's last 15 overall first-set win rate is not directly available, but her overall record (6-9) and 44.1% sets won suggest she often starts slowly.
- Sramkova's hard-court first-serve points won (75.7%) and break points saved (100%) in her last 2 matches indicate strong early-set performance.

Sramkova's elevated ace count on hard courts and Tjen's baseline ace rate make over 5.5 total aces likely, though Tjen's hard-court ace data is limited.
- Sramkova's last 2 hard-court matches: 6.5 aces per match (13 total).
- Tjen's last 15 overall: 2.8 aces per match, but hard-court data is missing; career ace rate is 474 in 183 matches (2.6 per match).
- Sramkova's overall last 15: 3.9 aces per match; on hard courts, her ace rate spikes.
