Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 26 Jul 2026, 16:34 · Europe/Bucharest

Braden Shick's superior hard-court form and serve give him a clear edge over Benjamin Thomas George, whose double-fault issues and poor surface record make an upset unlikely.

The best betting value lies in Shick covering a -3.5 game handicap and the match going over 21.5 total games, while the 1.10 moneyline on Shick is too short to back.

Context

Shick's last15 hard-court record is 10-4 (71.4%), including a title run at Cary.
- He wins 68.7% of first-serve points on hard courts and averages 4.1 aces per match.
- His recent loss to Noguchi was competitive (5-7 6-3 6-2), not a collapse.
George's last15 hard-court double faults per match: 7.3 (29 in 4 matches).
- He averages only 0.5 aces per match on hard courts, giving Shick many looks at second serves.
- Shick wins 41.6% of return points on hard courts, which should pressure George's shaky serve.
George played three-set qualifying matches on 12 and 13 July in Granby, then another three-setter on 19 July in Winnipeg.
- His last four hard-court matches have all gone to three sets, averaging 149.6 minutes.
- Shick's last match was also a three-setter, but he had a week to recover before this event.
