The read

Given Davidovich Fokina's ability to dominate on grass and Cerundolo's limited grass-court weapons, a relatively short match with under 35.5 total games is probable.

• Davidovich Fokina's last 5 grass matches averaged 20.4 games per match (all Bo3, but extrapolating to Bo5 suggests a relatively quick match).
• Cerundolo's 3 grass matches in 2026 averaged 22.3 games per match (Bo3), with two straight-set results.
• H2H match had 26 games in a Bo5, well under 35.5.
• Davidovich Fokina's serve/return edge (66.2% first serve, 40% return points won) should limit long rallies.

The read

Davidovich Fokina's strong start trend on grass and Cerundolo's vulnerability early in matches make the Spaniard a heavy favorite to take the opening set.

• Davidovich Fokina has won the first set in 7 of his last 8 matches, including all 4 grass matches in 2026.
• Cerundolo has lost the first set in 3 of his last 5 matches, including his most recent grass match vs. Samuel.
• Davidovich Fokina's first-set win conversion rate is 83% career, and he won the first set 6-1 in the H2H.
• Cerundolo's first-set win conversion is 88% career, but that is heavily skewed by clay; on grass, he has won only 1 of 3 first sets in 2026.

• Cerundolo has lost 4 of his last 6 matches in straight sets, including his most recent grass match.
• H2H was a straight-sets win for Davidovich Fokina.
• Cerundolo's only Bo5 win on grass came against a lower-ranked opponent in a tight 5-setter, but Davidovich Fokina is a much stronger grass player.

• Cerundolo has played a tiebreak in 4 of his last 6 matches, including his last two grass matches.
• Davidovich Fokina's career tiebreak win percentage is 49%, Cerundolo's is 64%.
