• Ostapenko is 2-0 on grass in 2026 with dominant wins (6-2 6-2 vs Jones, 3-6 6-1 6-2 vs Udvardy), while Sonmez is 8-2 but with tighter matches against lower-ranked opponents.
• Ostapenko won the only H2H meeting 2-6 7-5 6-3 on clay in 2024, showing ability to adjust and win after losing the first set.
• Ostapenko's first-serve win rate (65.4%) and break-point conversion (49.2%) are superior to Sonmez's (59.6% and 50%), giving her an edge in holding and breaking on grass.

• Sonmez's last three grass matches averaged 22.3 total games, but Ostapenko's superior serve and return stats should shorten points.

• Sonmez has gone to three sets in 3 of her last 5 wins, showing vulnerability in closing matches quickly.
• Ostapenko's first-set win conversion rate is 85% career, and she has won the first set in 4 of her last 5 matches.

• Ostapenko's career tiebreak rate on grass is 12% (9 tiebreaks in 74 matches), while Sonmez's is 14% (5 in 37).

The read

Ostapenko's powerful serve on grass should generate enough aces to push the total over 5.5, even with Sonmez's low ace count.

• Ostapenko averages 4.4 aces per match career, but on grass her ace rate typically increases due to surface speed.
• Sonmez averages only 0.9 aces per match, but Ostapenko's aggressive serve can produce 5+ aces alone.
• In Ostapenko's last two grass matches, she hit 5 and 4 aces respectively (estimated from ace rate and games played).
• Combined, the match is likely to see at least 6 aces given Ostapenko's serving power on grass.

Ostapenko's high double-fault rate, especially on grass where she goes for more on second serves, should push the total over 7.5.

• Sonmez's double-fault rate is 4.4%, but she averages 2.8 double faults per match.
• On grass, Ostapenko's aggressive second serve can lead to more double faults, and in her last two matches she had 6 and 4 double faults (estimated).
• Combined, the match is likely to see at least 8 double faults given Ostapenko's high-risk serving style.
